Guided by our STRIDE values - Safety, Teamwork, Responsibility, Integrity, Deliver, and Excellence - we foster a people focused on a culture of growth, mentorship and collaboration where safety always come first.\nWhat You'll Do\nReporting to the Telecom Manager, the Telecom Technologist installs, manages and/or maintains equipment used to control and monitor systems, equipment, and processes in the utilities network systems. The Telecom Technologist ensures these systems and processes operate efficiently, reliably and safely. They provide expertise for the conceptual design, programming and ensure substation integration to customer(s) NOC is performing properly. They also perform end to end testing on communication circuits for peripheral devices. At NERC critical asset sites, they ensure equipment and configuration meet CIP regulatory requirements.\n** This is a field-based role with approximately 80% of your time in the field. REG covers accommodations and provides a LOA. \nKey Responsibilities\nThe responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:\nResponsible for maintenance and installation of telecommunications equipment and various telecommunication sites in the area and or district.\nWorking with Telecom equipment such as: Microwave Radios, Industrial Wireless Systems, SCADA Communication Systems, VSAT, CDMA, Phone Systems, Digital Multiplexer (MPLS), DC Power systems, Networks (LAN/WAN), VHF Radio Systems, and associated equipment.\nRegularly interface with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism, including but not limited to other employees, management, vendors, and customers.\nWork side by side with engineering, double checking drawings and assist in scope of work estimation.\nInteracting with clients in the field and over the phone regarding job acceptance and outage planning.\nPerform fibre splicing and testing for power systems connectivity over OPGW and ADSS fibre.\nAdditional Information\nThis position is designated as safety-sensitive making employment contingent upon the successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, as well as criminal and general background checks.\nSchedule & Compensation\nThe typical work schedule is 4 days on / 3 days off.
