Guided by our STRIDE values - Safety, Teamwork, Responsibility, Integrity, Deliver, and Excellence - we foster a people focused culture of growth, mentorship and collaboration where safety always come first.\nWhat You'll Do\nReporting to the Estimating Manager, the Project Estimator plays a key role in the preparation of complete EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) proposals for high-voltage electrical, renewables, and utility projects. This position is responsible for evaluating RFP packages to determine scope, constructability, and proposal requirements, ensuring a compliant and competitive submission. Working closely with preconstruction team members-including estimating, engineering, procurement, and project controls-the Project Estimator leads the development of detailed cost estimates and supporting documentation. The role is critical in identifying value engineering opportunities and supporting the transition from estimate to execution through structured hand-offs and project lifecycle collaboration.\nKey Responsibilities\nThe responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:\nEvaluate RFP packages to understand scope, schedule, deliverables, and commercial requirements for assigned estimates.\nPrepare detailed EPC cost estimates for transmission, distribution, substation, generation, and industrial electrical projects.\nSupport the development of complete proposal submissions, ensuring compliance with client requirements and internal standards.\nCollaborate with preconstruction team members and cross-functional stakeholders to develop scope, pricing, execution plans, and schedules.\nCoordinate and attend site visits to gather field-level data and assess constructability.\nPrepare or assist in the preparation of supporting proposal documents, including:\nProject Execution Plan\nCost Estimate\nProject Schedule (MS Project or Primavera)\nEnvironmental, Safety, Quality, and ITP Plans\nRisk Register, Assumptions, and Clarifications\nOptional Pricing and Alternate Proposals\nExecutive Summary\nSupport the engagement of subcontractors and vendors to secure pricing and confirm scope alignment.\nReview client commercial terms and coordinate with internal stakeholders for risk assessment and compliance documentation.\nMaintain a record of all estimate basis throughout the development of a proposal.\nFacilitate internal estimate review meetings at various stages of the estimate.\nConduct final bid submission reviews with the appropriate internal signing authorities.\nConduct formal estimate hand-off meetings with the Project Management team after contract award.\nAssist with the preparation and submission of change orders and scope adjustments.\nParticipate in project close-out and post-mortem reviews to support continuous improvement.\nSupport the use of CRM systems to track proposal status, client interactions, and business development metrics.\nSubmit accurate and timely administrative documentation, including daily timesheets.\nSupport continuous improvement efforts within the estimating process and proposal quality.\nAdditional Information\nAs a condition of employment, candidates will be required to complete pre-employment screening including professional reference checks and a criminal record check.\nRequirements\nWhat We're Looking For\nPost-secondary education in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred, or certification as a Journeyperson Electrician or Power Systems Electrician considered a strong asset.\nMinimum of 3 years of experience in electrical estimating, preferably within the electric utility or EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) sectors. \nExperience with renewable, distribution, and substation projects considered an asset.\nProficient in interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents.\nStrong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and labor productivity.\nExperience using estimating software such as Hard Dollar (or equivalent).\nExperience with digital take-off tools such as Bluebeam.\nAbility to develop project schedules using Microsoft Project and/or Primavera.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).\nProficiency with document management software such as SharePoint.\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across engineering, procurement, construction, and project management functions.\nProven ability to coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.\nAble to clearly articulate estimate assumptions, risk considerations, and commercial impacts to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nHighly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.\nSelf-driven, proactive, and capable of working independently while also functioning as part of a larger team.\nBenefits\nWhat We Offer\nCompetitive compensation with weekly pay periods \nGenerous paid time off \nRRSP-DPSP employer matching, increasing with years of service \nComprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, and disability) \nOngoing training, development, and career advancement opportunities \nEmployee Assistance Program (confidential counselling support) \nEmployee Referral Bonus Program \nWhy Rising Edge Group?\nSafety & Excellence: Safety is at the heart of everything we do.
