These sentiments capture why we choose Riskified every day. \nAbout the Role\nRiskified is seeking an Assistant Controller to support our expanding Finance team. In this high-impact role, you will build robust accounting infrastructure and controls while collaborating cross-functionally to drive company growth. We are looking for an analytical, self-driven finance professional ready to make a key contribution to a dynamic, scaling organization.\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nAssist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.\nGenerate budget vs. actuals analysis, investigate and explain key variances, trends, and drivers.\nParticipate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting policies and internal controls to comply with legislation.\nEnsure that detailed accounting documentation is compiled and maintained in support of relevant legal, regulatory, and audit requirements.\nReview revenue contracts for compliance with Revenue Recognition accounting guidelines and ensure appropriate billing.\nWork with the company’s auditors on quarterly and annual audits.\nPerform manual billing calculations for unsupported contractual terms using dedicated BI reports and dashboards.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless flow of billing information and its accurate representation in financial statements.\nPartner with Development teams to identify, investigate, and drive billing and operational issues through resolution.\nWork with Account Managers and Account Executives to align operational workflows, identify issues, and track them through resolution.\nBuild weekly and monthly reports and monitor KPI’s.\nSupport SOX compliance requirements and related controls.\nDrive operational improvement initiatives, including automation, AI tools, and FinOps workflow optimization.\nGuide and train Sales teams on accurate data entry and proper system usage.\nWork closely with Deal Desk, Sales, Development, Product, Business Applications, and Legal teams.\nSupport and manage the monthly billing cycle, including recurring billing inquiries.\nQualifications\n3+ years of experience in Finance Operations, Accounting, or a similar role.\nBachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.\nExperience in a similar role in the high-tech or start-up industry (strong advantage).\nExperience working with Salesforce, NetSuite, and Looker ( strong advantage).\nTech-oriented, with strong attention to detail and experience collaborating with Development, Product, Analytics, and other technical teams.\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven mindset.\nProactive, resourceful, and execution-focused, with the ability to think creatively and take initiative.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.\nStrong time-management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects.\nFamiliarity with legal and contractual terminology.\nAbility to meet deadlines and work under pressure\nWe include transparent salary ranges to support fairness, clarity, and informed decision-making early in the process. The base salary range for this position is €35,000 - € 40,000 gross annually for candidates based in Lisbon. Your actual salary will be determined based on your unique skills, experience, and competencies.
