Here, you’ll find innovation, stability, and the chance to grow your career as part of a team that’s always looking ahead.\nCORE RESPONSIBILITIES\nEmbedded Firmware Design and Development\nDevelop, debug, and maintain C/C++ firmware for ARM microcontrollers, RTOS/bare-metal systems, and embedded Linux.\nImplement reusable drivers, bootloaders, interfaces, diagnostics, and configuration services.\nTranslate requirements into software designs and test criteria while optimizing performance and reliability.\nPlatform Reuse and Product Delivery\n\nBuild reusable firmware and edge components across product families, avoiding unnecessary software forks.\nSupport board bring-up, hardware/software integration, and troubleshooting of connected equipment.\nSafety, Cybersecurity, and Lifecycle\n\nImplement secure provisioning, authenticated communications, secure boot, OTA updates, and recovery mechanisms.\nSupport cybersecurity, functional-safety considerations, traceability, and product certification activities.\nEmbedded Linux and Distributed Edge Computing\n\nDevelop Linux edge applications and services, including IPC, networking, local messaging, and fault recovery.\nIntegrate distributed devices, gateways, sensors, and cloud/mobile interfaces using MQTT, APIs, and appropriate protocols.\nWork with embedded Linux deployment, containerized services, and offline operation where appropriate.\nIntegration, Verification, and Release\n\nIntegrate firmware with edge compute, SMART sensors, mobile experiences, and IoT/device-management platforms.\nDevelop automated unit/integration tests and support hardware-in-the-loop, system validation, and release readiness.\nCross-Functional Technical Leadership\n\nPartner with architects and cross-functional teams on system interfaces, technical decisions, and integrated delivery.\nMentor engineers, participate in code reviews, and help improve development practices.\nSupervisory Responsibilities\nThis role has no direct reports but provides senior-level technical leadership and mentoring.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nEducation & Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.\n7+ years of embedded firmware/software development and production product delivery.\nKnowledge / Skill Requirements:\nStrong C/C++ skills, real-time programming, debugging, and resource-constrained design.\nARM microcontrollers, RTOS/bare-metal, board bring-up, and interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, and GPIO.\nEmbedded Linux services, networking, IPC, and distributed edge computing.\nTCP/IP, MQTT, secure communications, Git, automated testing, and release practices.\nPreferred Experience:\nIndustrial controls, connected sensors, or safety-related equipment.\nBLE, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, cellular, PoE, CAN, RS-485, or Modbus.\nLinux build systems, containers, IoT platforms, or edge AI/vision integration.\nSecure boot, IEC 62443 practices, CI/CD, Python/shell, or hardware-in-the-loop testing.\nLeadership & Collaboration:\nIndependent technical ownership, strong problem solving, and effective cross-functional collaboration.\nWhat We Offer\nAt Rite-Hite, we take care of our people - because when you’re supported, you can do your best work.
