Rite-Hite Products Corporation, our dock leveler and restraint division, has an immediate need for a Production Team Leader.\nThis position is responsible for assisting the department supervisor’s daily production goals by communicating production needs and coordinating production materials and resources accordingly. The position provides daily work direction, directly assisting employees and working in production as required under the direction of the area supervisor.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.\nCoordinates production scheduling and daily production activities to conform with the master schedule and inventory requirements. This is accomplished through effective planning, assigning and directing of production resources within respective production line(s).\nPerforms production operations on a regular basis, as needed (approximately 40%).\nServes as primary contact for employees with regards to resolving daily production issues. Serves as a liaison between the respective production area and the area supervisor.\nHelps ensure that product meets quality standards by monitoring compliance to print specifications.\nResponsible for ensuring continuous quality and efficiency improvement over time.\nTrack and report quality and efficiency trends.\nUnderstands, supports and helps to enforce safe production practices and good housekeeping.\nResponsible for implementing and supporting the quality system and continuous improvement efforts.\nAssists Production Supervisor in identifying employee training needs. Coordinates and/or provides on-the-job training accordingly.\nAssists Production Supervisor by providing input regarding interviewing, hiring, performance appraisals, corrective action, and conflict resolution.\nPRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES\nEffectively direct the daily activities of production employees to ensure timely, on-time production.\nEnsure continuous improvement with respects to safety, quality, efficiency/productivity, housekeeping and on-time delivery.\nEnsure adequate skill level of employees by assessing and providing effective training as required.\nEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); along with at least five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires welding certification. Requires a knowledge of manufacturing procedures and capacities, company products and components, and production/inventory control procedures.
