Here, you’ll find innovation, stability, and the chance to grow your career as part of a team that’s always looking ahead.\nPURPOSE AND SCOPE\nA Welder 1 is responsible for laying out fabrications, tacking weldments together, and welding components to \ncustomer supplied specifications with the highest level of quality. This position is also responsible for maintaining a \nclean and safe work environment while working with supervisors/leadership to make suggestions for improvement \nto products and processes. Reporting directly to a Production Supervisor.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.\nMaintain a clean and safe work environment. \nOperate as required within JD Edwards Software to perform daily production tasks. \nUtilize blueprints to fit and weld metal components. \nSelect equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding. \nEnsure Quality Auditor is called in to verify work. \nLays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together. \nBolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding. \nSets up and can adjust GMAW equipment to perform quality welds. \nUses plasma, and/or oxyfuel cutting torches. \nUses hand power tools such as grinders, belt sanders, die grinders. \nIs proficient using fabrication measurement tools (squares, tape measures, levels, magnets). \nUtilize Quality Control packets to determine build quantity. \nRepair, disassemble, assemble, straighten, sharpen, and reshape products. \nOperates forklifts, hoists, and cranes. \nResponsible for executing and supporting the quality system and procedures in the effort for continuous improvement.\nEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE\nSix months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nKNOWLEDGE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS:\nThe ideal candidate will demonstrate: \nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.\nAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
