You will engage with clients to understand their automation needs and ensure the successful implementation and operation of Rittal products such as WT, MT, MTS, EHRT, and Perforex.\nPrimary Activities/Duties: \nProvides daily support to Rittal’s customers and Rittal Outside Sales Engineers as it relates to Rittal Automation Systems (RAS) machines or supplemental products.\nProvide on-site and remote troubleshooting and support for Rittal automation systems.\nSupports customers by being “on call” as needed. \nAssist with the integration of Rittal automation products into existing systems, ensuring compatibility and optimal functionality.\nPerform installations and configurations of automation systems at customer sites.\nDiagnose system faults, perform repairs, and execute corrective actions in a timely manner.\nSupport the implementation, installation and repairing of RAS machine.\nConduct training sessions for clients and end-users on Rittal automation systems.\nAssist with setup and demonstration of RAS machines during trade show and customer events.\nAvailable for extensive travel to customer locations in North America (including Canada and Mexico) and Germany - up to 80%.\nOn-going communications with Rittal Headquarters, Eckelmann, Siemens, and Kiesling located in Germany regarding products, quality or any other issues regarding RAS.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nKnowledge & Experience: \nB.S. degree with major in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent training required. Technical certification with PLC or CNC Controls or computers a plus.\nFive plus years work experience in Controls Engineering or CNC Machines with plant floor experience required.\nKnowledge of pneumatics and vacuum systems, electricity (AC/DC), step up/step down transformers, single and three phase power up to 460 volts, linear actuator motors.\nWorking knowledge of CAD/AutoCAD drawing for importing customer documentation into the RAS software. \nExperience with automation systems, PLCs, and control technology.\nStrives for continuous improvement of equipment and processes by giving feedback that will improve reliability and technology.\nFamiliarity with automation software (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000) and Rittal-specific programming tools.\nIn-depth knowledge of automation systems, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).\nMust be able to visually communicate concepts, read drawings and be very detailed. Working knowledge of PLC logic and process troubleshooting.\nBasic understanding of drilling, tapping, and milling of metal parts and the ability use measurement instruments.\nConversational and technical knowledge of the German language is a plus. \nExperience with Microsoft products, including working knowledge of Word and Excel.\nHigh level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with technical as well as non-tech personnel.
