This role helps drive modernization strategies that improve performance, security, scalability, and user experience across public-facing digital services.\nPOSITION OVERVIEW\nRIVA is seeking a Senior Drupal Technical Lead / Web Modernization Architect to serve as the principal technical advisor for enterprise web platforms and applications. The successful candidate will lead Drupal modernization initiatives, define architecture strategies, guide cloud and DevSecOps adoption, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable digital solutions.\nCORE RESPONSIBILITIES\nServe as the senior technical lead for enterprise web platforms and applications, providing architecture guidance, implementation recommendations, and technical risk mitigation.\nLead Drupal-based website and application modernization efforts, including upgrades, migrations, re-platforming initiatives, and feature releases.\nGuide engineering approaches for open-source web development utilizing Drupal, PHP, MySQL, Drush, Git, Composer, Varnish, and Drupal Migrate API.\nDrive DevSecOps and CI/CD improvements through adoption of automated testing, code scanning, release automation, and pipeline best practices.\nCollaborate with infrastructure and cloud teams to support hosting, deployment, performance, scalability, and operational excellence.\nEnsure solutions comply with applicable security, privacy, accessibility, and web governance standards.\nPartner with product owners, UX teams, content strategists, QA teams, and operations personnel to define technically sound solutions.\nDevelop future-state roadmaps supporting platform consolidation, reusable frameworks, modernization investments, and delivery improvements.\nProvide technical leadership for cloud-based web environments utilizing AWS, Akamai, Cloudflare, or equivalent platforms.\nAdvise stakeholders on technology strategy, modernization priorities, and enterprise architecture decisions.\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.\n10+ years of Drupal experience including enterprise-scale website design, implementation, and modernization.\nExpertise with PHP, MySQL, Drush, Git, Composer, Varnish, and Drupal Migrate API.\nExperience leading technical modernization initiatives involving migrations, upgrades, cloud adoption, and DevSecOps practices.\nWorking knowledge of Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket, and CI/CD automation tools.\nExperience with AWS, Akamai, Cloudflare, GovCloud, or comparable cloud-hosted web platforms.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.\nAbility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nExperience supporting Federal digital communications, public affairs, or public-facing web modernization programs.\nExperience establishing open-source governance policies, reusable frameworks, and enterprise technical standards.\nKnowledge of FedRAMP, FERPA, GDPR, HIPAA, PCI, CCPA, SOC1, and SOC2 compliance frameworks.\nExperience leading multi-site Drupal implementations and large-scale enterprise migrations.\nExperience developing modernization roadmaps focused on performance, scalability, and delivery efficiency.\nAcquia Certified Drupal Developer certification or equivalent credentials.\nExperience advising Federal agencies or similarly complex enterprise organizations on platform modernization.\nEQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY & ACCOMMODATION\nWe believe great teams are built from different backgrounds, perspectives, and lived experiences, and we mean that beyond the buzzwords. \nRIVA is an equal opportunity employer.
