All Riverside Research opportunities require U.S. Citizenship.Position Overview\nRiverside Research is seeking a highly skilled Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) Research Engineer to support the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency involving infrared sensing, space-based missile warning systems, data exploitation, and algorithm development. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in EO/IR systems, infrared phenomenology, OPIR data analysis, and software development for remote sensing.\nThis role requires proven experience working with complex sensor systems, developing and testing new analysis capabilities, and collaborating with government, industry, and research partners on next-generation sensing technologies.\nResponsibilities\nSupport prototyping, development, and support transition of advanced OPIR data processing algorithms\nEvaluate and troubleshoot data processing, identify anomalies, and coordinate remediation strategies\nSupport development of white papers, technical documentation, and transition plans\nCollaborate with research organizations, DoD stakeholders, and external agencies\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications\nActive TS/SCI clearance\nAdvanced understanding of EO/IR signal processing, AI/ML processing, and target system phenomenology\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related technical field\n2+ years of experience in EO/IR algorithm development\nDetailed experience with OPIR data formats and processing pipelines\nAdvanced Python development skills\nStrong analytical skills and ability to diagnose sensor performance, data anomalies, and software issues\nDesired Qualifications\nExperience with OPIR analysis\nMaster’s degree in Computer Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related technical field\nExperience collaborating with NGA, NASIC or other intelligence community organizations\nGlobal Comp\n$95,000- $120,000 This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.Closing Statement\n Riverside Research Institute is a not-for-profit, technology-oriented defense company, where service to our customers and support of our staff is our overall mission.
