In this role, you will be a key technical contributor within the Architecture, Safety & Attributes (ASA) team, working independently to bridge the gap between engineering needs and software/data solutions. You will go beyond identifying inefficiencies to actively building data management pipelines, automating simulation (CAE/CFD) workflows, and deploying tools that improve the quality and speed of vehicle development. Your ability to collaborate across teams and deliver robust, user-friendly solutions will be critical to our success\nNo Visa Sponsorship\nResponsibilities\nContinuous Improvement:Identify gaps and inefficiencies in current processes and propose creative and practical solutions.\nWorkflow Automation:Mainly Python based scripting to automate repetitive tasks.\nTooling Development: Build and maintain in-house desktop and web applications, automation scripts, and databases to support engineering workflows at scale.\nProcess Integration:Collaborate with attribute teams, IT, and PLM departments to seamlessly integrate departmental workflows into broader company platforms\nOptimization and AI:Understand the latest tools and methods available and apply where appropriate to gain process efficiency.\nCross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with other teams and individuals, including vehicle attribute and design engineers, to support shared goals and projects.\nCommunication:Clearly communicate your ideas, findings, and progress to the team and adapt your approach where necessary to achieve the best outcome.\nDocumentation:Produce clear and structured guides for any tools or processes developed.\nProblem Solving: Act as a technical resource for process and methods; troubleshoot complex workflow bottlenecks and implement sustainable, automated fixes.\nAdvanced Analysis Support: Support the integration of High-Performance Computing (HPC) optimizations and advanced analytics to accelerate CAE and engineering analysis\nQualifications\nAn undergraduate degree in software engineering, computer / data science or engineering, coupled with a proven track record (ideally 2-4 years experience).\nFundamental understanding and knowledge of mechanical, automotive, or aerospace principles.\nProficiency in coding with Python.\nProficiency in AI, including agent creation, coding / software development, process automation\nDemonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.\nStrong communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly.\nAn adaptable mindset with a proven ability to compromise when necessary.\nAn appreciation for the power of intuition in developing robust processes.\nPreferred Qualifications: An understanding of an engineering development process\nA keen interest in AI in general\nExperience in Graphical User Interface (GUI) development.\nFamiliarity with the principles of virtual vs. physical testing.\nVersion control (Git)\nKnowledge of web development technologies\n\nPay Disclosure\nThe salary range for this role is USD105,100-131,400 for Irvinebased applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.
