Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.\nRole Summary\nAs a Test Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in the hardware design and development of automated PCBA and unit-level test stations. This includes designing specialized test equipment for a range of power electronic equipment, such as inverters, onboard chargers, and DC fast chargers. You'll collaborate with automation engineers to automate end-of-line and validation test equipment, and you'll also contribute to the continuous improvement of our test stations for future programs.\nResponsibilities\nDesign and develop custom electronic test equipment to support validation, end of line, and production testing of inverters, on board chargers, DC fast chargers, and other inhouse electrical products.\nDesign and develop functional test equipment for printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA).\nDocument test equipment designs via electrical wiring schematics.\nWork closely with the engineering project teams to ensure test equipment designs align with the software and hardware requirements.\nParticipate in design reviews, requirement reviews, DFMEAs, PFMEAs and Hazard Analyses.\nDirect activities of prototype build lab personnel during fabrication of the test equipment.\nDevelop test procedures defining specific test setup requirements and instructions.\nPerform data analysis and generate reports.\nUtilize standard electronic test equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators and power analyzers.\nUse sensors such as thermocouples, RTDs, strain gauges, accelerometers, pressure gauges, and flow meters. \nSupport technical root cause analysis and resolution of issues found during testing.\nQualifications\nBS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.\n3+ years’ experience designing unit or circuit board functional test equipment.\n3+ years’ experience designing test equipment for electronics. High-voltage power electronics preferred. \nAbility to create schematics using design software tools such as Altium and AutoCAD Electrical.\nFamiliarity with modular test instruments and National Instruments I/O Systems (PXI, cDAQ) \nKnowledge of and experience with computer hardware, communication, and bus protocols (RS232, CAN, GPIB, Ethernet, USB).\nHands-on experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting complex issues with minimal supervision\nFamiliarity with environmental test setups and test error proofing.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced development environment.\nSelf-motivated: Demonstrated ability to set direction and guide the team towards it.\nPCB design experience preferred \nProgramming ability in LabVIEW is a plus.\nPay Disclosure\nThe salary range for this role is USD 121,500-151,900 for Southern California based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.
