As a Robotics Wireless & Network Engineer Intern, you'll sit between the hardware and software teams as a hands-on engineer across that entire path, configuring and segmenting networks, characterizing wireless links, building the monitoring that keeps the fleet visible, and getting to the bottom of connectivity issues\nWhat you’ll be doing\nNetwork engineering: Configure and improve the robot's internal network (VLAN, NTP/PTP time sync, DHCP/DNS).\nReal-time traffic: Make sure ROS2/DDS, WebRTC and MQTT flows behave correctly on the network.\nWireless and RF performance: Characterize how the cellular, Wi-Fi and satellite links behave in the real world (coverage, throughput, latency under load, antenna placement and A/B system comparisons).\nTroubleshooting and documentation: Take the first pass on connectivity issues, work through them with packet captures and logs, and keep network diagrams, configuration baselines and technical docs up to date.\nWhat you must have\nBSc or higher in Telecommunications Engineering, Telematics Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or Computer Science.\nSolid networking fundamentals across all TCP/IP stack.\nHands-on experience (either through coursework, previous internships, or other projects) with networking, robotics or drones.\nComfortable working on Linux and Git.\nScripting in Python/Golang and basic knowledge in C++\nStrong problem-solving skills, and eagerness to learn and contribute on complex, real- world systems in a collaborative team.\nGet some bonus points\nExposure to RF concepts: link budgets, filters, antennas, VSWR, or hands-on time with a VNA or spectrum analyzer.\nROS2 or any experience with robots and sensors.\nFamiliarity with AWS and network configuration on embedded Linux.\nClear writing and the instinct to hand over what you learned.","description_format":"text","description_chars":2085,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Robotics AI","Logistics & Warehouse Robotics","Robotics Hardware"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-22T10:58:23Z"}],"liveness":{"score":63,"band":"ok","label":"Likely open","p_open":1,"p_active":0.632,"p_room":1,"age_days":0,"expected_fill_days":36,"reasons":["conf:1","stale_co","velocity","win:early","comp:junior"],"computed_at":"2026-09-23T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/rivr-robotics-wireless-network-engineer-intern","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/rivr-robotics-wireless-network-engineer-intern.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-09-24T01:51:21Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers"}}
