Build for Growth.\nRK Industries is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls for RK Mission Critical and the Service business, while supporting additional corporate accounting functions. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, you’ll lead month-end close activities, ensure accurate financial results across two business units using separate ERP systems, and strengthen accounting processes as the company continues to grow. This is an opportunity to apply your technical accounting expertise, solve complex challenges, and make a meaningful impact across the business.\nWhat You’ll Do\nOversee accounting operations, general ledger accuracy, reconciliations, and internal controls for RK Mission Critical and the Service business.\nLead month-end close activities and review financial statements, journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy and timeliness.\nInvestigate account fluctuations, discrepancies, and accounting variances while ensuring compliance with GAAP and corporate accounting policies.\nOversee manufacturing, project, and service accounting, including inventory, work in progress (WIP), standard costing, work orders, revenue recognition, cost of goods sold, labor, and overhead allocations.\nProvide technical accounting guidance to business unit accounting personnel, including the RK Mission Critical Senior Project Accountant and Cost Accountant.\nPartner with Corporate Accounting, Operations, and IT to resolve system and accounting issues, improve financial accuracy, and support consolidated reporting.\nStrengthen accounting procedures, reconciliations, and internal controls while identifying opportunities to improve processes and support continued growth.\nIndependently identify accounting risks, prioritize issues, and drive timely resolution of complex challenges.\nSupport additional corporate accounting responsibilities and special projects as assigned by the Corporate Controller.\nWhat You’ll Bring\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting required.\n8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including accounting management or controllership responsibilities.\nStrong manufacturing, project-based, or operational accounting experience.\nSolid knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls.\nExperience with inventory, WIP, standard costing, revenue recognition, manufacturing cost accounting, and month-end close.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to independently resolve complex accounting and system issues.\nExcellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across accounting, operations, and IT.\nExperience in a rapidly growing or changing business environment.\nPreferred Qualifications\nCPA certification.\nExperience with IFS ERP.\nExperience overseeing accounting across multiple business units or ERP platforms.\nAdvanced Excel and financial data analysis skills.\nWhy Build Your Career at RK?\nBuild bigger.
