Our exclusive building methodologies, accredited safety standards and professional execution allow us to turn our customers’ greatest concepts into reality.\nPosition Summary\nThe Design Engineer supports the development and integration of modular product designs by executing system layouts and detailed designs across mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural disciplines. This role works under the guidance of senior engineers to deliver accurate, manufacturable designs and contributes to the coordination of multi-disciplinary systems.\nRole Responsibilities\nSupport the development of physical layouts and spatial integration of equipment within modular systems, including electrical and mechanical components.\nDevelop and maintain 3D models, drawings, and BOMs for assigned portions of the module, ensuring accurate equipment placement and clearances.\nApply design standards to ensure accessibility, serviceability, safety clearances, and code compliance.\nCoordinate with Electrical Engineering to incorporate one-line requirements into physical layouts, including cable routing and penetrations.\nCollaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure designs align with DFM/A requirements, including assembly and installation considerations.\nAssist in defining equipment interface details, including mounting and support requirements.\nReview third-party engineering packages and provide feedback under guidance of senior engineers.\nGenerate and maintain GA drawings and fabrication packages for assigned work.\nParticipate in design and layout reviews, assisting in identifying and resolving clashes.\nSupport prototype builds and production by addressing design-related issues and implementing updates.\nContribute to the development and application of standard layouts, design rules, and templates\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline required.\n2-5 years of experience in manufacturing, product design, or assembly design with exposure to electrical, mechanical, and structural systems and integration/assembly operations.\nProficiency in 3D modeling and design software such as SolidWorks, Revit, Inventor, or similar CAD platforms. \nExperience developing system layouts, general arrangements (GA), and equipment integration designs.\nWorking knowledge of electrical equipment layouts and NEC clearance requirements.\nUnderstanding of structural design principles, including frames, weldments, and lifting/rigging considerations.\nFamiliarity with HVAC and thermal considerations for equipment enclosures. \nKnowledge of DFM/A principles and manufacturing processes (sheet metal, welding, assembly).\nAbility to coordinate across disciplines and assist in resolving layout and integration conflicts.\nExperience with BOM development/management and engineering change control processes.\nStrong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, buildable design documentation.\nMinimum Physical Requirements and Accountability\nWork outside, inside, and in dusty, noisy and hazardous areas. \nWork in high places, tight places, confined spaces and/or other adverse locations. \nClimb, balance, squat, kneel and crouch. \nWork in all types of weather. \nMust have working knowledge of all trade materials and tools. \nAbility to lift and carry 51 to 75 lbs. occasionally, and/or 31 to 45 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 16 to 22 pounds of force constantly to move objects.\nComply with all company policies and procedures.\nPrompt, punctual, and regular attendance during core business hours, in an office environment (not a telecommuting position), currently located in the Aurora, including a reliable means of transport to and from work.\nAbility to occasionally travel between corporate offices and jobsites within the Greater Denver Area, during work hours. \nAll employees are accountable for safety and health and are empowered to stop work if an unsafe condition is present.
