Our exclusive building methodologies, accredited safety standards and professional execution allow us to turn our customers’ greatest concepts into reality.\nPosition Summary\nRK Mission Critical is seeking an experienced Senior Project Accountant to provide hands-on project accounting and financial support to its manufacturing and project management teams.\nThis position is responsible for ensuring accurate project accounting, job costing, financial reporting, and cost-to-complete information throughout the project lifecycle. The Senior Project Accountant will work closely with Project Managers, Operations, Supply Chain, the Cost Accountant, and Corporate Accounting to ensure project costs are accurately captured, financial information is reliable, and accounting issues are resolved timely.\nFollowing the recent implementation of IFS, this role will also help improve project accounting processes, resolve system-related discrepancies, and ensure accurate project cost information within the ERP system.\nThe ideal candidate has strong project accounting experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or construction-related environment and is comfortable working independently in a rapidly growing business. This individual must be proactive, detail-oriented, and take ownership of issues through resolution.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nProject Accounting & Cost Management\nPartner with Project Managers to ensure accurate project setup, budgets, cost structures, and phase codes within IFS.\nReview Cost Status Reports (CSRs), monitor labor, material, and subcontractor charges, and resolve job cost discrepancies.\nEnsure accurate project cost allocations, WIP balances, and reconciliation of project costs to the general ledger.\nCoordinate with the Cost Accountant to reconcile manufacturing and work order costs to projects.\nSupport project closeout, including final cost reconciliations and resolution of outstanding transactions.\nProject Financial Reporting & Forecasting\nPartner with Project Managers to maintain Operations Management (OM) projections for revenue, costs, margins, and cost to complete.\nAnalyze project financial performance, including actual-to-budget and actual-to-projection variances, and identify risks to project profitability.\nPrepare project financial reporting and WIP schedules, providing revenue recognition support to Corporate Accounting for month-end close.\nProject Billing, AP & Compliance\nCoordinate project billing, accounts receivable follow-up, and resolution of outstanding customer balances with Project Management and Corporate Accounting.\nReview unapproved project invoices with Project Management and Supply Chain to ensure timely approval and accurate job cost coding.\nCoordinate subcontractor payment documentation, compliance requirements, and lien releases.\nSupport project-related sales and use tax compliance, including exemptions and required documentation.\nIFS ERP & Process Improvement\nServe as a key project accounting resource for IFS, ensuring accurate project transactions, cost allocations, and financial reporting.\nIdentify, investigate, and resolve project accounting and system discrepancies resulting from the ERP implementation.\nPartner with the Corporate Assistant Controller, Cost Accountant, IT, and Operations to resolve system issues and improve accounting processes.\nDevelop and maintain consistent project accounting procedures, reconciliations, and controls.\nCross-Functional Coordination\nWork closely with Project Managers, Operations, Supply Chain, and the Cost Accountant to ensure accurate and timely project financial information.\nMaintain a dotted-line reporting relationship with the Corporate Assistant Controller to ensure alignment with corporate accounting policies, controls, and reporting requirements.\n\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Accounting required.\n5+ years of progressive project accounting experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or project-based industrial environment.\nStrong understanding of project accounting, job costing, WIP, revenue recognition, and project cost structures.\nExperience preparing and analyzing project budgets, cost-to-complete forecasts, and margin projections.\nStrong understanding of project cost reporting and the financial impact of labor, materials, subcontractors, and other direct costs.\nExperience with ERP-based project accounting systems.\nStrong Excel skills, including financial analysis, reconciliations, and large data sets.\nAbility to work independently, identify discrepancies, and take ownership of issues through resolution.\nStrong communication and organizational skills with the ability to work directly with project management and operational personnel.\nAbility to manage competing priorities in a rapidly growing and changing environment.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with IFS ERP.\nExperience supporting an ERP implementation or post-implementation stabilization.\nExperience in modular manufacturing, industrial fabrication, mission-critical infrastructure, or engineer-to-order environments.\nExperience with percentage-of-completion or over-time revenue recognition.\nFamiliarity with sales and use tax requirements, subcontractor compliance, and lien management.\nExperience with federal or defense contracts, including FAR/DFARS requirements, where applicable.\nExperience with Power BI or other financial reporting tools.\nKey Competencies\nProject accounting and job cost
