Our exclusive building methodologies, accredited safety standardsand professional execution allow us to turn our customers’ greatest concepts into reality.\nPosition Summary\nAssist the Industrial Paint Supervisor and Team. Responsible for painting structural steel of all sizes (small parts up to 60' modular skid units). Work is performed in both a paint booth and outdoor prep areas. Fast-paced production environment with constant material flow.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nGrind, sand, prime, or seal surfaces prior to painting.\nClean surfaces to ensure proper adherence and quality.\nCalculate amounts of required materials and inform supervisor of shortages.\nApply several coats according to paint directions and supervisor directions.\nTape off no spray/machine surface areas when needed.\nApply touchups or second coats during the production process and at time of shipping.\nInspect painted product for any runs, sags, or unpainted areas and retouches as required per specifications.\nWork with supervisor in picking quality paint and equipment for best efficiencies and overall best quality.\nClean up all equipment, including brushes, spray guns, hoses, pumps, etc.\nWork on ladders to reach high ceilings or walls.\nWork on and under machines to properly apply primer and paint.\nAssists in cleaning of the paint booth and wash bay areas.\nAssist grind department in material handling and preparation when needed.\nHandle paint, paint related materials and paint related hazardous wastes properly.\nPerform other essential duties as assigned\nQualifications\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent.\n2 years related painting, spray gun and Caulking experience. \nMust be able to read and follow paint data sheets. \nMust understand and work within NACE and AISC coating requirements. \nAbility to work carefully and pay attention to detail.\nAdept at using chemicals in a safe manner.\nKnowledge in Alkyd enamel and epoxy paint a plus.\nMust be dependable.\nExposure to Contaminants (such as pollutants, gases, dust or odors).\nNoise Level can be distracting or uncomfortable.\nStand for long periods of time. \nMust be able to work with solvents such as acetone, MAK, isopropanol alcohol, isocyanates (catalysts/hardeners) and other paint related materials.\nMust wear all required PPE (personal protective equipment) for the area.\nAbility to lift 50 lbs. and have stamina to work long hours on their feet; should be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or climb and work from a ladder. \nGood Vision ability to include: color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.\nTakes direction well, ability to work independently and in a group.\nManufacturing experience preferred.\nMinimum Physical Requirements\nWork outside, inside, and in dusty, noisy and hazardous areas.\nWork in high places, tight places, confined spaces and/or other adverse locations.\nClimb, balance, squat, kneel and crouch.\nWork in all types of weather.\nMust have working knowledge of all trade materials and tools.\nAbility to lift and carry 51 to 75 lbs. occasionally, and/or 31 to 45 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 16 to 22 pounds of force constantly to move objects.\nClimbing ladders from 4' to 24'. \nLifting and handling materials. \nWearing full PPE (respirators, suits, gloves) \nWhat Sets RK Industries Apart\nSafety: Our unmatched culture of safety is our foremost core value, guiding everything we do each day: Health, Safety, & Environmental\n\nAwards: Whether in Construction, Manufacturing, Fabrication, or Service, RK Industries is highly recognizedand accredited throughout the industry: Accreditations & Recognition\n\nBenefits: RK Industries offers competitive benefits to support your growth and well-being: Benefits & Rewards\n\nPhilanthropy: RK Industries not only builds our community through our projects, but also invests in it by supporting local services for over a decade through the RK Foundation: RK Foundation\n\nDevelopment: Through RK University, we provide hands-on training and development opportunities that empower employees to advance their careers and grow within the company, to include leadership and technical learning opportunities, we well as our accredited apprentice program: RK University & RK Apprenticeship Program\n\nApplications are accepted on an ongoing basis.\nRK Industries, LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
