As a Machine Operator, you’ll set up and operate equipment, monitor quality, troubleshoot issues, and help keep production running safely and efficiently.\nWhether you’re building your experience as a Machine Operator 1 or bringing advanced metal-processing and CNC skills as a Machine Operator 3, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your skills and take on greater responsibility.\nWhat You’ll Do\nSet up and operate machinery according to production specifications.\nOperate lift trucks and overhead cranes.\nMonitor equipment and make adjustments to maintain quality, speed, and efficiency.\nInspect finished products and ensure they meet quality standards.\nPerform routine cleaning, lubrication, maintenance, and minor repairs as appropriate to your level.\nTroubleshoot production and equipment issues.\nRead process sheets, cut lists, measurements, and other production documentation.\nMaintain accurate production and maintenance records.\nWork with your team to meet production goals and deadlines.\nFollow all safety and shop procedures and help maintain a safe working environment.\nWhat You Bring\nMachine Operator 1\n1+ year of industry experience\nStrong mechanical aptitude\nAbility to read process sheets, cut lists, and tolerances\nIntermediate math skills\nAbility to read a tape measure\nStrong problem-solving skills\nMachine Operator 2 - All of the above, plus:\n5+ years of metal-processing experience\nAbility to perform minor equipment maintenance\nIntermediate math, including some geometry and trigonometry\nAbility to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints\nKnowledge of machine settings, adjustments, and maintenance procedures\nAbility to mentor Machine Operator 1 employees\nCross-training on most machines\nUnderstanding of Lean and Continuous Improvement practices\nMachine Operator 3 - All of the above, plus:\n7+ years of metal-processing experience\nAbility to certify in multiple positions and processes\nAdvanced blueprint reading, including ISO, European standards, and raw contract drawings\nAbility to create hand drafts and sketches\nAbility to lead small teams to meet project goals and timelines\nAbility to train employees on machinery\nCross-training on all machines\nUnderstanding of intermediate Lean manufacturing and advanced Continuous Improvement initiatives\nAbility to program and set up CNC equipment\nWhat the Work Requires\nThis is a hands-on industrial role. You’ll regularly stand, walk, bend, reach, crouch, kneel, climb, and perform repetitive or physically demanding tasks.
