Reporting to the Director of Safety, the Hazmat Technician is responsible for the performance of tasks associated with emergency response, hazardous and non-hazardous materials clean-up, site-remediation, equipment decontamination, handling of hazardous materials, and other duties as required.\nRequirements:\n40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification required\nBased on OSHA and industry health standards, wear proper personal protective equipment when required\nWork effectively and communicate with team members and other departments\nInform the management team of issues that arise on jobs in a timely manner\nUpdate job notes daily\nPhysically fit; able to lift 75 lbs.\nAble to thrive in a high-pressure and fast-paced team-supported environment\nLead safety in all aspects of emergency response, including following R+L procedures, properly containerizing waste/re-use products, and completing safety documentation, and upholding R+L’s high level of safety\nExperience operating tools applicable to emergency response activities\nSet up and participate in live training events to ensure the competency of personnel\nAudit incoming/outgoing hazardous materials shipments for compliance\nAbility and willingness to coach co-workers on unsafe behaviors observed\nWilling to participate in specialized scheduled projects as required\nCompetent in Microsoft Office applications such as, but not limited to, Excel, Word, and Outlook\nExceptional interpersonal skills, customer service, and problem-solving skills\nProven ability to work in a confidential capacity\nAbility to handle multiple tasks, while being detail oriented\nBenefits: R+L Carriers offers an excellent compensation and comprehensive benefits package that includes Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance, 401(k) Retirement Plan with company matching contributions, Paid Vacation & Holidays, and vacation lodging at our exclusive employee resorts in Daytona Beach, FL, Big Bear Lake, CA, Pigeon Forge, TN, and Ocean Isle Beach, NC.\nABOUT US: R+L Carriers is a family owned, privately held transportation company founded in 1965.
