The Plant Supervisor should be well versed in the operation of a concrete batch plant and have a safety conscious mind-set.\n\nResponsibilities\nRead and interpret blueprints, schematics and detailed repair drawings related to plant equipment.\nDismantle and reassemble mobile plants and equipment in preparation for repairs and/or transportation.\nSupervise, lead, and direct plant team towards completion of daily tasks, operational effectiveness, and maintenance activities. \nPerform and/or coordinate preventative maintenance on plant equipment to minimize production downtime.\nTriage and troubleshoot mechanical issues with plant equipment.\nAlign and calibrate machinery and equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation of the plant.\nOversee and lead plant staff including labouers, equipment operators, batchers, and tradespeople.\nPerform manual labour responsibilities as needed.\nMaintain a safe working environment including completing daily HSE reports, identifying current and potential hazards, reviewing safety policies with the team, coordinating with Safety Advisors, etc.\nAuthorize a review timesheet, approve vacation time, and manage daily manpower requirements.\nGeneral housekeeping and yard work.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nQualifications\n2+ years prior experience working in the concrete industry, preferrable at a batch plant.\n2+ years prior experience in a supervisory capacity.\nValid class 5 drivers license and clean drivers abstract.\nSuccessful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.\nCSTS certification is an asset.\nJourneyperson Millwright designation is preferred.\n\nKey Attributes\nProven leadership skills and a team centric attitude.\nSafety conscious mindset.\nExcellent organization and time management skills.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nFlexibility when there are competing priorities.\nAbility to problem solve and apply creative solutions to complex problems.\n\nHours of Work\nHours of work will vary based on project requirements, typically 8–12-hour shifts, and can include a combination of day shift, afternoon shift or night shift. \n\nPhysical Demands\nThis is moderately strenuous work.
