Start your journey today and join our skilled team.\nWe are seeking a Preconstruction Manager to support some of the most innovative, complex, and large-scale data center and mission-critical construction projects in the country. This role will be instrumental in delivering RMCI’s first-generation programs as a General Contractor within hyperscale and enterprise data center environments. \nThe Preconstruction Manager provides leadership, structure, and technical expertise across all preconstruction activities at RMCI. Working closely with the Chief Estimator, this role ensures that project pursuits, design development, cost modeling, and early-phase planning are executed with accuracy, clarity, and strategic intent.\nResponsibilities\nDesign Management & Technical CoordinationManage design-phase communication between RMCI, owners, and design partners.\nLead constructability reviews, design coordination meetings, and technical evaluations.\nTrack design evolution and communicate cost, schedule, and risk impacts to the Chief Estimator.\nProvide guidance on logistics, phasing, site constraints, and feasibility during design development.\nSupport development of early schedules, general conditions, and procurement strategies.\n\nEstimating Partnership & Cost DevelopmentAlign preconstruction strategy with estimating strategy to ensure consistent assumptions, scope clarity, and pricing logic.\nReview plans, specifications, and addenda to identify scope gaps, risks, and opportunities, coordinating with the Chief Estimator on pricing impacts.\nSupport subcontractor outreach, prequalification, and pricing strategy in collaboration with Estimating Team.\nParticipate in GMP development, cost trending, and buyout strategy discussions.\n\nDocumentation, Communication & Workflow ManagementOversee all preconstruction documentation, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution.\nReview and approve meeting minutes, action logs, and document control outputs prepared by the Preconstruction Coordinator.\nMaintain alignment between preconstruction deliverables, estimating outputs, and project handoff requirements.\n\nLeadership, Department Oversight, and Internal CollaborationLead RMCI’s preconstruction efforts with strategic guidance from the VP of Preconstruction.\nProvide mentorship, direction, and workflow oversight to the Preconstruction Coordinator.\nLead turnover meetings, ensuring assumptions, risks, and cost models are clearly communicated.\nDevelop and refine RMCI’s preconstruction standards, templates, processes, and best practices as the department grows.\nFoster strong collaboration across Estimating, Project Delivery, Operations, Marketing, and Business Development.\n\nClient, Partner & Trade Partner EngagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with owners, designers, subcontractors, and vendors.\nLead or support client-facing cost reviews, design meetings, and pursuit presentations.\nRepresent RMCI professionally at industry events, meet-and-greets, and preconstruction meetings.\n\nQualifications\n5-10 years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, or design management within industrial construction or mission critical facilities.\nStrong understanding of estimating principles, design development, and alternative delivery methods (CMAR, Design-Build, Design-Assist).\nSkilled in conceptual estimating, cost modeling, and reviewing plans/specifications for scope gaps and risks.\nStrong communication and client-facing presentation skills.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Bluebeam, Building Connected, and estimating software preferred.\nHighly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple pursuits in a fast-paced environment.\nExperience mentoring or overseeing junior team members.\nEducation & Certifications\nRequiredBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or related field\nMinimum of five years of experience in preconstruction and estimating roles\n\nPreferredAdvanced coursework or certifications in estimating, preconstruction project management, or construction technology.\nExperience in general contracting, industrial construction, and mission critical facilities.\nTraining or proficiency in estimating software (Sage, OST, Assemble, etc.).\n\nSafety Level \n This is a safety sensitive position, and all applicable policies including drug test and background check will apply.\n#RMCIIND1\nIt has been and continues to be the long-standing policy of any Nox Group operating company to provide equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, or genetics.
