This individual will serve as the Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Arc Flash and Electrical Studies, working closely with the Sales team to support and expand our electrical studies capabilities. The role will play a critical part in delivering and scaling services including arc flash, short circuit, and coordination studies\nWhat You’ll Do:\nServe as the primary technical authority for electrical engineering solutions\nDevelop, review, and support engineering designs, specifications, and technical documentation\nProvide technical guidance to internal teams during project execution, including issue resolution and root cause analysis\nParticipate in customer site visits to assess requirements, gather technical data, and support solution development\nCollaborate cross-functionally with engineering, service, sourcing, quality, and leadership teams\nIdentify and implement process improvements, contributing to internal standards and best practices\nDevelop and maintain SOPs, technical documentation, and training materials\nTrain engineering team members and provide technical training to sales teams on processes, tools, and capabilities\nLead technical presentations, workshops, and “lunch & learn” sessions for internal teams and customers\nSupport sales and business development through presentations, technical demonstrations, job walkthroughs, and defining technical requirements during contract discussions\nThe Experience We’re Looking For:\n5+ years of experience in electrical power systems studies, with a strong focus on arc flash analysis\nProven experience performing short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies in industrial or commercial environments\nExperience with industry-standard software such as ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower\nStrong understanding of NFPA 70E, IEEE standards, and electrical safety practices\nExperience supporting or working alongside sales teams in a technical capacity\nAbility to train and mentor both engineering and sales personnel\nStrong communication and presentation skills, especially in client-facing technical discussions\nHighly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects\nAdditional Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)\nAble to work remotely with minimal supervision\nWillingness to travel up to 15% across the continental U.S.\nValid driver’s license\nMust successfully complete a background check and pre-employment/random drug test\nAble to lift 20+ lbs and navigate uneven surfaces and elevated work areas\nBonus Points for:\nExperience supporting commissioning or field service teams directly\nFamiliarity with isolated-phase bus duct systems or generation-side interconnect design\nPrevious utility, data center, or renewable energy sector experience\nNETA Level 2, 3, or 4 certification \nEngineer-in-Training (EIT) license \nPE licensure in one or more U.S. states\nFormal coursework or certification in power system protection and coordination\nWhy Join RMS Energy:\nWe’re not just another power services company.
