This remote role is ideal for senior-level professionals with strong experience in power systems modeling and analysis. You’ll lead studies, mentor others, and contribute to the development of best-in-class engineering solutions for clients across North America.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nLead complex studies in power flow, transient stability, short-circuit, electromagnetic transients (EMT), harmonics, and techno-economic areas for transmission, distribution, and generator applications\nDevelop and improve scripting processes to streamline modeling and study execution\nGuide and support junior engineers, providing technical direction and ensuring deliverables are accurate, timely, and meet client requirements\nApply in-depth knowledge of industry standards, system operations, and equipment regulations to solve advanced modeling challenges\nManage sensitive technical and commercial information with high confidentiality and ensure compliance with all data agreements\nOversee project initiation and closeout processes, tracking scope, deliverables, and hours spent\nProactively identify risks related to timelines or budgets and escalate concerns in time for mitigation\nFacilitate or attend meetings to align with stakeholders, troubleshoot project issues, and support planning efforts\nSubmit accurate and timely time entries to support project accounting and cost recognition\nCommunicate frequently with management about team needs, project goals, and any outstanding items\nThe Experience We’re Looking For:\n7-12 years of professional experience performing and leading power system studies\nProven experience managing and mentoring engineering teams\nAdvanced proficiency with industry-standard modeling tools (e.g., PSS/E, PSCAD, ASPEN, ETAP, PowerFactory)\nDemonstrated ability to write high-quality reports and conduct technical presentations\nStrong Excel and PowerPoint skills; fluent in English for both written and verbal communication\nAdditional Requirements:\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field experience\nMust successfully complete a background check and pre-employment/random drug tests\nMust have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record\nAble to travel 25% or more, including periodic overnight stays\nMust be flexible to work occasional overtime, weekends, or holidays based on project demands\nVisa sponsorship available for qualified U.S.-based candidates\nBonus Points for:\nMaster’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field experience\nEngineer-in-Training status or PE license\nExperience working with ISO/RTO study requirements or interconnection processes\nFamiliarity with scripting and automation in Python, MATLAB, or similar languages\nBackground in techno-economic analysis of power systems\nExperience presenting to utility boards, regulatory bodies, or major industrial clients\n**We welcome applications from qualified candidates, including those who may require visa sponsorship to work in the United States.**\nWhy Join RMS Energy:\nWe’re not just another power services company.
