You'llserve as both thetechnical lead and primary customer contact, managing projects from initialconcept through final delivery while ensuring high-quality engineering solutions.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nDesign and support brownfield substation upgrades and modernization projects\nDevelop Protection & Control (P&C) designs for transmission and distribution substations\nSupport relay replacements, breaker replacements/changeouts, RTU replacements, control system upgrades, and ground grid modifications\nUpdate and revise existing electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and documentation to reflect system modifications\nServe as a primary engineering contact for assigned customers, providing technical support and maintaining effective communication throughout project execution\nPrepare project scopes, engineering estimates, schedules, and technical deliverables\nParticipate in customer meetings and provide engineering updates throughout the project lifecycle Coordinate with internal engineering, drafting, procurement, and field teams to support successful project execution\nReview engineering deliverables for technical accuracy and compliance with applicable codes, industry standards, and customer specifications \nSupport field activities, commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical issue resolution as needed \nCollaborate with field teams and other engineering disciplines to ensure quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction\nFollow all safety procedures and standards while working around energized electrical equipment\nThe Experience We’re Looking For:\n3-5 years of hands-on experience in electrical engineering, including protection and control and substation design, with demonstratedinvolvement in system design, analysis, and optimization.\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineeringor a closely related field from an accredited institution; additionalexperience may substitute for formal education in specific cases.\nExperience with relay replacements, breaker replacements, RTU replacements, and control system modernization\nLicensure or certifications such as NETA Level 2 or 3, or FE/EIT preferred; shows commitment to professional development and eventual PE licensure.\nFoundational knowledge of electrical systems, wiring practices, and equipment, with growing expertisein system design and implementation.\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and capable of using technical tools like AutoCAD for design support.\nExposure to electrical modeling software such as SKM PowerTools, ETAP, or EasyPoweris preferred.\nAdditional Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)\nAble to work remotely with minimal supervision\nWillingness to travel 15-20% across the continental U.S.\nValid driver’s license\nMust successfully complete a background check and pre-employment/random drug tests\nAvailable for extended and irregular hours as needed\nComfortable working in both office and field environments\nAble to lift 20+ lbs and navigate uneven surfaces and elevated work areas\nRequires good vision, hearing, and English proficiency for safe, effective communication in noisy environments\nBonus Points for:\nStrong collaboration skills, able to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams to support project delivery.\nClear and effective written and verbal communication, with the ability to present technical information to both engineering and non-technical audiences.\nDemonstrated organizational and time-management skills; able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with guidance from senior engineers.\nMotivated and self-directed, with the ability to work independently on defined tasks while seeking guidance when appropriate.\nWhy Join RMS Energy:\nWe’re not just another power services company.
