delivery for millions of patients.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nDesign and build scalable, reliable, and resilient distributed services using Python and FastAPI, supporting critical clinical and operational workflows\nOperate as an owner within the team's domain and proactively assess and improve system performance and reliability.\nDrive engineering excellence through best practices in testing, monitoring, observability, and performance optimization\nActively contribute to building the team’s architectural vision and technical roadmap\nCollaborate on code reviews and technical design documents to ensure the consistent application of best practices across relevant domains\nWork closely with product, design, data and other stakeholders to help us build the best possible experiences for our providers, pharmacists, and patients\nParticipate in on-call rotations to ensure reliability of production systems\nWhat You’ll Bring to the Team:\n7+ years of software engineering experience\nExperience architecting, designing and building scalable web applications and distributed systems\nProficiency with Python, relational databases, and frameworks like FastAPI or Django, with hands-on experience in metrics instrumentation and data-driven performance tuning leveraging Ro’s load testing infrastructure and tools like Datadog\nProven track record of scaling complex, data-intensive backend systems through rapid 10x growth at a late-stage startup, ensuring high performance and availability\nDeep understanding of distributed systems-data consistency, communication patterns, and service boundaries-backed by hands-on experience building and maintaining data-intensive production systems\nStrong sense of ownership with the ability / desire to own technical roadmaps and refine ambiguous problems\nDemonstrated ability to collaborate with other engineers and cross-functional partners to create the best possible products\nBonus Skills:\nExperience in telehealth or
