We recently raised €27 million in a Series A round led by Plural, Cherry Ventures, Kindred Ventures, and Brainlab, fueling our next phase of growth.\nThe successful candidate must excel in an energetic, collaborative small-team environment and be able to move seamlessly between medical and engineering cultures. A commitment to high product quality and scientific integrity is essential, along with a strong sense of shared responsibility and shared reward and the ability to make the work fun and interesting.\nThe Clinical Engineer is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing the preclinical and clinical tests of Robeauté’s robotic platform. In particular, they will plan and coordinate clinical testing together with the product team and surgeon collaborators.\nThis role reports to the Head of Clinical Affairs.\nKey Responsibilities\nDefine device test protocols with surgeon collaborators and oversee their execution\nDesign and run formative and summative usability studies\nTrain surgeons to full proficiency on the robot ahead of clinical implementation\nValidate the platform's readiness ahead of each clinical or preclinical use, and document any technical issues\nOversee installation of the robot in the OR or preclinical test space\nCollect, manage and structure data following each test session\nAuthor detailed reports based on the data collected from preclinical or clinical use\nLead surgical procedure training and provide OR oversight for first-in-human and clinical studies\nProductize the surgical procedure and training, creating dedicated documentation, procedures and workflows.\nBuilding the Surgeon Community\nIn parallel, the Clinical Engineer will build a detailed understanding of the clinical applications of Robeauté’s robotic platform. They will connect with surgeon collaborators and nurture those relationships over time, growing the surgeon community on a foundation of mutual respect.\nCross-functional Collaboration\nThe Clinical Engineer will work closely with the technical team responsible for hardware and software design, feeding back what dry lab, preclinical and clinical studies reveal about the robot's performance. This feedback loop directly informs the platform's ongoing development, grounded in real test results.\nThe Clinical Engineer will also participate in the preparation and submission of research grant applications, and will represent Robeauté and its robotic platform at conferences and within the surgeon community as needed.\nRequirements\nPh.D. in Biomedical Engineering and/or M.Eng., with equivalent relevant work experience\nExperience preparing and executing medical device testing\nTesting experience across both lab and clinical environments\nAbility to install and repair mechatronic assemblies for testing purposes\nStrong written, verbal and documentation skills in English and French\nExperience with usability testing and human factors\nPreferred Qualifications\nSolid knowledge of anatomy and physiology, with the ability to build trust and relationships within the surgeon community\nAbility to effectively communicate Robeauté's product and mission to surgeons\nStrong team orientation, combined with the ability to work independently\nStrong interdisciplinary understanding across robotics, electronics and control systems\nExperience with OR and surgical workflows and training is a plus\nField & Travel Requirements\nThis role involves regular time in operating rooms and preclinical test environments.\nThe Clinical Engineer should also be available for clinical and preclinical missions abroad as needed.
