And as an Bid Manager, you’ll be part of a team that’s doing incredible things - for ourselves, for the built environment around us, and for a truly sustainable future.\nYour new role\nThe role:\nResponsible for bid management of projects from inception stage through to tender submission and contract award ensuring that the company is appropriately represented and opportunities are maximised.\nAssisting and co-ordinating all other functions at appropriate stages of bid and pre-construction development.\nThe fundamental tasks of the job are all as noted on the bid process checklist and within the company’s various manuals, namely: \nSafety \nEnsure the business complies with legislative requirements as part of the Regulations during pre-construction activities \nAssess significant H&S risks as part of the overall risk management approach \nCompany \nSuggest improvements to company systems so that they address the continuing business needs. \nContinually develop relationships with consultants, clients & supply chain. \nSupply Chain \nEnsure that the supply chain is considered to satisfy the requirements of the projects \nSupport the commercial and contractual aspects of the supply chain tenders and offers \nProduction & Commercial \nManage the pre-construction activities for projects \nPrepare tender price and submission documents for bids \nCo-ordinate costs for projects at feasibility stage \nProduce pre-construction information and settlement reports as required \nMonitor and manage tender correspondence/documents/drawings in conjunction with others \nUnderstand construction programmes and their implications \nIdentify and manage risks and opportunities associated with tenders \nIdentify value engineering to maximise commercial returns to the business \nAttend external and internal meetings and interviews \nProvide advice to external and internal teams \nManage the production of tender deliverables \nEnsure that the management of bids, from early design stages through to site commencement, is progressed in line with the tender programme in accordance with procedure \nPrepare comprehensive handover documentation of successful tenders from the pre-construction to operational teams and assist in the early integration where necessary \nAny other duties which may be allocated to you from time to time \nQUALIFICATIONS/RELEVANT INDUSTRIAL EXPERIENCE:\nComplimentary relevant industrial experience with a construction related academic qualification \nIT literate and numerate \nExcellent communication skills both written and oral \nHigh attention to detail \nAble to identify and assess risk and develop winning strategies for projects \nSound knowledge of bidding strategies & techniques \nFull driving licence \nThe post will be subject to health surveillance and regular/random drug and alcohol testing \nWhat's in it for me\nOur Principles - The Robertson Way\nOur principles are our roadmap to achieving positive outcomes and delivering on our purpose.
