Our plans for growth require RFM to ‘make the market’, and to be at the forefront of high value opportunities in the FM marketplace\nYour new role\nWhat you'll do:\nProvide hands-on support to the maintenance team with repairs, servicing, and general upkeep of building facilities and systems, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC tasks.\nConduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs, report issues promptly, and assist in prioritizing repairs to ensure a safe and functional environment.\nCarry out maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, fixing leaks, clearing drains, and other minor repairs as needed.\nAssist in the operation, maintenance, and transportation of tools, materials, and equipment necessary for various maintenance tasks.\nFollow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all maintenance activities.\nUse a mobile device for job tracking, completing work orders and reporting maintenance issues via an online system.\nParticipate in an on-call rotation to respond to emergency maintenance issues outside of regular working hours, ensuring timely resolution of urgent problems\nWhat you'll need:\nPrevious experience in a maintenance, facilities, or handyman role, preferably within a healthcare or commercial setting.\nKnowledge of either plumbing, electrical, mechanical and general building maintenance.\nGood verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to report issues clearly and effectively.\nProficiency in using mobile devices, including familiarity with mobile apps and basic data entry.\nAbility to manage time effectively, work independently, and handle multiple tasks across various sites.\nAbility to identify maintenance issues and ensure high standards of work and safety.\nWillingness to travel between sites and adapt to changing priorities and tasks.\nFull Uk Driving Licence\nThe successful candidate will require a PVG/Disclosure Check before starting in the job.\nWho we’re looking for:\nWe are seeking a reliable and proactive Maintenance Engineer - We will review engineers of most trade disciplines including mechanical, plumbing or semi-skilled engineers to join our site-based maintenance team. The role involves supporting the maintenance team in ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective upkeep of The Balfour Hospital based in Kirkwall Orkney.
