We’re looking for Software Engineers to join the Reliability team at Roblox. In this role you will help evolve the systems that keep Roblox fast, reliable, and efficient, and you will learn alongside senior engineers who build infrastructure at global scale.\nYou’ll work with engineers on our team and in partner teams to build infrastructure that supports Roblox growth. If you like digging into hard technical problems and shipping solutions that hold up in production, we want to hear from you.\nAt Roblox, our vision is to reach 1 billion daily active users. As part of this team, your work will directly help us scale toward that goal.\nYou Will:\nOwn well-scoped features and components inside multi-quarter projects that scale Roblox and make our systems more efficient, from design through production rollout.\nBuild and improve systems that use AI and ML to scale services and workloads across multiple geographic regions.\nFind and fix performance and efficiency problems in production services, such as right-sizing workloads and tuning resource usage, using metrics and profiling data.\nWork with product and infrastructure teams to understand their problems and help solve them with software.\nTake part in on-call and incident follow-ups, and turn what you learn into lasting reliability improvements.\nYou Have:\nExperience: a BS degree (or equivalent professional experience) in Computer Science or a related engineering field, with at least 2 years of experience building backend systems or AI/ML pipelines (internships and research count).\nCoding skill: strong proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Rust, Go, Java, C#), and you write clean, tested, maintainable code.\nSystems fundamentals: a solid grasp of distributed systems concepts (concurrency, networking, caching, load balancing, failure modes), and an interest in going deeper.\nInterest in performance: you have profiled, benchmarked, or tuned a service or pipeline and can explain what you changed and why it helped.\nCuriosity: you want to know how things work under the hood, and you keep going on hard problems until you understand them.\n Nice to have: experience with containers and orchestration (Kubernetes, Nomad), observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana), or applying ML/forecasting to operational data.\nYou Are:\nA Learner: you take in feedback quickly, look for mentorship, and grow your scope over time.\nA Partner: you know the best tools fit into the existing tooling ecosystem. You approach partners with curiosity and work to understand a problem before you start coding.\nA Problem Solver: you ask good questions, form hypotheses, and use data to test them.\nDependable: you break your work into milestones, estimate honestly, and keep your team updated on progress and blockers.\nA Team Player: you contribute to code reviews, documentation, and shared team goals, and you help make long-running projects succeed.\nFor roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
