You’ll design high-fidelity detections, engineer security data platforms, and respond alongside the team during incidents. This is a hybrid in-office role in San Mateo.\nYou Will:\nDeliver robust D&R capabilities: Engineer high-fidelity detections end-to-end. Lead partners through threat modeling and logging, to deploying actionable alerts, while keeping false positives low.\nBuild security data pipelines: Develop security data pipelines and actively contribute to internal software and data platforms, collaborating across engineering teams.\nEnsure service reliability: Participate in an on-call rotation to keep detection and response services healthy.\nEmbody security culture: Serve as a trusted security partner across Roblox, helping protect our community and enterprise while fostering a culture grounded in trust, ownership, and shared responsibility.\nYou Have:\n3+ years of experience in Security Data Engineering: You have built services that are efficient, reliable, and scalable using programming languages like Golang or Python. You leveraged infrastructure as code tools like Terraform and query languages like SQL.\nCore security engineering skills: You prioritize risk, design compensating controls and drive incidents to fully mitigate root causes.\nYou Are:\nIntellectually restless: You relish gathering data to inform decisions. You embrace new paradigms to tackle complex problems with creativity and speed.\nA collaborative builder: You are comfortable diving into shared codebases and submitting github PRs to build scalable security solutions.\nPragmatic: You balance open-source, commercial tools, and custom in-house builds to find the right fit for unique security challenges.\nFor roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
