We're building the infrastructure layer for physical AI.\nAs a Robotics Engineer Intern, you'll develop and integrate autonomous systems across our fleet and at customer deployment sites - building the \"robotic hands\" that turn our platforms and datasets into production-ready systems for enterprises and researchers.\nResponsibilities\nDesign robotic manipulation and navigation systems for constrained, high-density, real-world environments\nIntegrate vision systems for automated inspection, manipulation, and anomaly detection\nCollaborate with AI/ML engineers to connect robotics control with real-time data and training pipelines\nBring up, prototype, test, and refine robotic hardware and software across our multi-platform fleet and at pilot deployment sites\nEnsure the reliability, safety, and scalability of robotics solutions for continuous operation\nRequirements\nWe're looking for a true full-stack roboticist who is fluent across software, hardware, and mechanical domains:\nSoftware: Proficiency with robotics frameworks such as ROS/ROS2, MoveIt, and OpenCV; strong control algorithms and the ability to iterate quickly in a startup environment\n\nHardware: Hands-on experience with embedded systems, sensors, actuators, wiring, and robot bring-up and integration\n\nMechanical: Working understanding of robot mechanics - arm kinematics, mounting and fixturing, end-effectors, and the physical assembly/debugging of real hardware\n\nDemonstrated experience taking systems end-to-end, from prototype to deployed, across multiple subsystems\nStrong problem-solving skills and comfort working hands-on with real robots\nNice-to-Have\nExperience with industrial robotics, teleoperation, or multi-robot fleets\nComputer vision model training and deployment\nSensor fusion, path planning, and SLAM / autonomous navigation\nExperience across many robot platforms or hardware form factors\nLocation: San Francisco, CA (on-site at our lab)\nWhy Robotics Center?\nYou'll work hands-on with one of the largest concentrations of robot platforms anywhere, backed by YC and NVIDIA, building the infrastructure layer for physical AI.
