Our technology brings together computer vision, C++ software, autonomy, embedded systems and real-world product development.\n\nWe are looking for a C++ Software Engineer to join our engineering team and contribute to the software that connects and powers different parts of Robotto’s technology platform.This is a hands-on software engineering role for someone who enjoys building reliable systems, solving complex technical problems and seeing their software move beyond development into real-world operation.\n\nThe role\nYou will develop and maintain C++ software across Robotto’s software ecosystem, working on applications and services that support the operation, communication and coordination of our unmanned systems.Depending on the project, your work may span different parts of our platform—from software running alongside our autonomous systems to applications used to configure, control and interact with them.You will work closely with engineers across computer vision, autonomy, embedded software, electronics and testing to develop new capabilities, integrate components and continuously improve the reliability and performance of our systems.\n\nWhat you will do\n\nDesign, develop and maintain high-quality software primarily in C++.\n\nBuild software used across our drone and unmanned-systems platform.\n\nDevelop reliable communication and data flows between different software and hardware components.\n\nWork on performance-sensitive and potentially real-time or near-real-time applications.\n\nIntegrate software with APIs, networking components, sensors and wider system infrastructure.\n\nDebug complex issues across interconnected software systems and identify root causes.\n\nContribute to software architecture and technical design decisions.\n\nWrite maintainable, testable and well-structured production code.\n\nParticipate in code reviews, testing, documentation and continuous improvement of our engineering practices.\n\nCollaborate closely with computer vision, embedded, autonomy and hardware engineers.\n\nSupport integration and testing on real systems and drone platforms..\n\nWhat success could look like in your first 3–6 months\n\nYou have developed a strong understanding of Robotto’s software architecture and how the different parts of our platform work together.\n\nYou are contributing production-quality C++ code to our products.\n\nYou have taken ownership of features or components from development through integration and testing.\n\nYou are successfully debugging and solving issues across interconnected systems.\n\nYou are contributing to improved reliability, maintainability and performance of our software.\n\nYou have become a trusted technical partner within the engineering team.\n\nWhat we are looking forWe are looking for a strong software engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and building software that interacts with real systems.\n\nStrong professional experience developing production-quality software in C++, with a solid understanding of modern software engineering practices.\n\nSolid understanding of software architecture, data structures, algorithms and object-oriented design.\n\nExperience developing multi-component or distributed software systems.\n\nExperience with networking, inter-process communication, APIs or communication protocols is highly relevant.\n\nGood understanding of concurrency, multithreading and performance considerations in C++.\n\nExperience with debugging, testing, version control and modern software development practices.\n\nExperience with Linux-based development environments is an advantage.\n\nExperience with robotics, drones, autonomous systems, defence technology or other complex technical products is an advantage, but not a requirement.\n\nExperience working with software that interfaces with hardware or real-world systems is an advantage.\n\nProfessional fluency in English.\n\nA degree in computer science, software engineering, robotics or a related field is preferred; equivalent practical experience is equally welcome.\n\nPlease apply even if you don't meet every single point.
