This role demands deep expertise in Python programming, system architecture, and integration within complex business environments. \nAs a senior member of the development team, this role requires collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders-including data engineers, DevOps, product managers, and business analysts-to deliver robust, secure, and maintainable applications that drive operational excellence and digital transformation. \nKey Responsibilities \nDevelop and maintain Python applications for financial data processing, modelling, and reporting. \nDesign scalable microservices and APIs for integration with trading platforms, market data providers, and internal systems. \nCollaborate with finance and risk teams to automate workflows and enhance data accuracy and timeliness. \nOptimize performance of real-time and batch data pipelines handling large datasets. \nEnsure systems meet regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., MiFID II, Basel III, SOX). \nLead code reviews, mentor junior developers, and promote best practices in secure and maintainable coding. \nWork with DevOps to deploy solutions in cloud or hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). \nRequired Qualifications:\nMust-have: \n5+ years of Python development experience in enterprise or financial environments. \nStrong understanding of financial instruments (equities, derivatives, fixed income) and market data. \nExperience with financial libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pydantic, PyTorch, Pandas, PySpark, QuantLib). \nFamiliarity with trading systems, risk engines, or portfolio management platforms. \nProficiency in cloud technologies, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines. \nExcellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills. \nNice-to-have: \nExperience in the UK financial sector or financial sector in general.
