Through workflow analysis, process assessments, and collaborative design, this role improves the efficiency, quality, and operational performance of the diagnostics market. Combining technical expertise with business acumen, you serve as a core digital and workflow subject matter expert across diverse healthcare and laboratory environments.\nThis field-based digital consultant influences local and regional decisions early in the sales process by translating customer needs into tangible value demonstrations. Combining technical expertise in diagnostic solutions with strong stakeholder engagement, the digital consultant ensures solutions deliver measurable clinical, operational, and financial outcomes that drive customer satisfaction and Roche's growth.\nKEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nStrategic Leadership & Subject Matter Expertise\nDesign differentiated digital solutions balancing customer value with business sustainability.\nAdopt and execute \"Standard Work\" across franchises and global teams to ensure consistent quality and delivery.\nSupport consulting engagements for local and regional projects, leveraging standard analytical methods and cross-functional coordination.\nApply validated approaches such as Lean and Six Sigma for pre- and post-sales consulting.\nSeek to offer the best technical solution and process improvements linked to financial viability for the customer and Roche.\nDeliver foundational digital consulting services including workflow planning, process analysis, future-state design, and change management.\nMaster key tools: Total Value of Ownership (TVO), ROI analysis and Salesforce.\nEnsure proper project handoff to implementation teams with agreed deliverables.\nProvide feedback to help refine and evolve proprietary tools, techniques, and methodologies within the Digital Consulting (DC) practice.\nPre-Sales & Customer Advisory\nProvide pre-sales support to customers and sales teams for the development of recommended complex diagnostic intelligent integrated solutions, including tangible value propositions (ROIs, before and after analysis).\nPartner with Sales and Regional Accounts to identify opportunities and integrate digital consulting data into tactical business planning and account management.\nUtilize Strategic Visioning and Co-Creation methodologies to help customers define their operational direction, ensuring Roche digital solutions are central to their objectives.\nMonitor sales opportunities for which projects have been developed until the customers’ final decision, in alignment with the commercial organization.\nInternal & External Communication\nCommunicate, internally and outside RDC, the value of Digital Consulting services through written documents, case studies, marketing materials, and internal knowledge sharing.\nRepresent Digital Consulting as a credible advisor within the local industry and customer community.\nQuality Assurance & Continuous Improvement\nCollect and provide feedback (voice of the customer input) to ensure Digital Consulting solutions are meeting client needs and functioning according to specifications.\nCollaborate with fellow Roche Consulting colleagues to use, refine, and evolve proprietary tools and techniques to generate high-value deliverables and best practices.\nContinuously support the improvement of the overall consulting solution offering, products, and services Roche supports based on customer insights.\nAssist customer, support service, and IT teams in implementing detailed customer installation requirements to ensure customers’ needs have been met and that the product or solution is fully functioning according to expectations.\nAdministrative & Compliance\nPerform related administrative duties such as creating and submitting expense reports and status reports and adhere to any additional regulatory requirements.\nWHO YOU ARE:\nYou are an agile and analytical consultant with a proven track record of navigating complex laboratory and matrixed healthcare environments to drive operational improvement. You excel at managing diverse stakeholder relationships and translating site-level operational needs into actionable project objectives that deliver long-term value. Your expertise lies in workflow optimization, data analysis, and the ability to guide customers through change by anchoring recommendations in data. You possess the collaborative acumen to work effectively across specialized internal teams, fostering a culture of execution and continuous improvement across the Roche Consulting organization.\nOur ideal candidate would reside on the western half of the USA or in the Northeast within 50 miles of a major airport.\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Medical Technology, Life Sciences AND 4 years of laboratory IT, general IT, product line experience \nOR\n6 years experience of laboratory IT, general IT, product line experience\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\n5+ years of experience in the diagnostics, healthcare, or manufacturing industry in Operations, Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, or equivalent \nExperience with process mapping, statistical analysis, and reporting tools.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills to influence customer decision-makers by articulating data-driven ideas and influencing adoption of solutions.\nAble to travel +75% of the time.\nMLT/MLS/MB ASCP certification, HT/HTL ASCP certification or equivalent.\nStrong regulatory knowledge of CAP, CLIA, and TJC.\nBlack Belt certification in Lean Six Sigma, a relevant advanced degree (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, Operations Management), or validated equivalent enterprise continuous improvement experience \n3+ years of commercial experience in a sales, service-oriented, or consulting environment.\nProficiency using Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Middleware; familiarity with the navify Portfolio.\nStrong organization and analytical skills to uncover key technical, operational, and strategic issues.\nAbility to use analytical methods and applications to support consulting engagement conclusions and recommendations.\nAbility to credibly recommend changes to laboratory practices to improve waste, cost, quality, and turnaround times.\nStrong interpersonal skills to effectively influence and collaborate with people at various organizational levels internally and within customer organizations.\nFamiliarity with Roche and/or competitor products and industry trends.\nAdditional Information\nRelocation benefits are not provided with this position.\nA company car is provided with this position.\nThe expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indianapolis is $100,100.00 to $185,900.00 USD Annually. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
