Join Roche, where every voice matters.\nThe Position\nThis intermediate IT Network Engineer independently solves a range of technical business problems and contributes to challenging projects requiring deep knowledge in their area. You will design, build, test, and implement resilient solutions, evaluate new technologies, and contribute to technical documentation and standards. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential for collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and consulting internal or external stakeholders.\nJob Responsibilities\nServe as a Tier 3/4 technical escalation point for critical network incidents, performance bottlenecks, and post-mortem root cause analyses.\n\nProof of Concept & R&D: Design, validate, and test PoCs in lab environments to evaluate emerging network tools, protocols, and vendor solutions.\n\nStakeholder Management: Communicates and presents complex information, issues, and potential solutions on assigned projects and to cross-functional teams. Networks with senior internal and external personnel within their area of expertise. Represents the organization on assigned projects and serves as a consultant to internal/external stakeholders on technical matters.\n\nImpact/Strategy:Maintain comprehensive network diagrams, topology specs, and runbooks to ensure operational readiness across teams.Quality/Regulatory standards and that technology designs adhere to the organization’s architectural strategy, policies, and direction.\n\nComplexity / (Product Size): Demonstrates proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse team members and virtual teams from various locations and cultural backgrounds to achieve project or product goals.\n\nBusiness / Technical ability: Demonstrates a wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the technology area, with knowledge that is particularly deep in Networking. Understands the business needs of assigned projects and maintains a general knowledge of other related disciplines.\n\nQualifications\nEducation / Experience\nYou have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.\n\nYou bring over 3 years of experience as a Network Engineer\n\nCisco CCNA/P certification is preferred\n\nYou have supported, troubleshooted, and implemented large and complex data networks (LAN, DCLAN, WAN, Wireless).\n\nYou have worked with external vendors.\n\nYou are experienced with infrastructure automation, including automated provisioning of network devices.\n\nExperience applying infrastructure automation tools, infrastructure as code (IaC), scripting languages, logging, monitoring, and observability tools.\n\nYou can work flexible hours, handle occasional overtime, and participate in on-call duties.\n\nYou are fluent in English, both written and spoken.\n\nTechnical / Business Skills\nStrong understanding of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service environment, applying Scrum and Agile methodologies.\n\nAbility to evaluate promising technologies via PoCs and assess their feasibility in meeting business needs.\n\nAdditional Qualifications\nStrong problem-solving and decision-making skills, utilizing judgment and discretion for problems of larger scope.\n\nExcellent communication and presentation skills to explain complex information and potential solutions to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.\n\nAbility to act as a technical consultant to internal and external stakeholders and build networks with senior personnel.\n\nWho we are\nA healthier future drives us to innovate.
