The Senior Safety Manager communicates safety expectations, procedures, and training clearly to a diverse workforce. The position implements and maintains company safety programs, policies, and procedures in alignment with applicable regulations. Through proactive engagement, clear communication, and documentation, the Senior Safety Manager helps foster a culture of safety and accountability on every project.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nSafety Leadership & Planning:Collaborate with various departments to plan and implement solutions for hazard control, using engineered systems or personal protective equipment (PPE) to eliminate risks. Provide guidance and direction to project teams and field personnel on safety matters.\nSafety Standards & Compliance:Ensure compliance with OSHA, applicable state and local regulations, and company safety policies. Stay current on regulatory changes and industry best practices.\nManagerial Duties:Ensure proper management of a team of Safety Coordinators across multiple job sites.\nClient Representation:Professionally represent the company during safety inspections and safety-related communications with clients.\nSite Observations & Inspections:Perform regular safety observations, inspections, and audits. Prepare detailed reports on findings and communicate unsafe conditions to management, recommending corrective actions.\nIncident Investigation:Lead the investigation of near misses and incidents, identifying root causes and contributing to the development of corrective and preventive actions.\nSafety Training:Conduct safety training sessions for employees in field or classroom settings. Ensure all team members are knowledgeable about safety protocols and best practices.\nFirst-Aid Care:Provide first-aid assistance for minor injuries and ensure proper reporting and documentation.\nOther Duties:Assist with additional safety-related tasks and projects as needed.\nQualifications\nExperience:5-7 years of experience in construction safety, risk management, or a related field.\nManagement Experience:Demonstrated experience leading teams, managing safety programs, and driving accountability across multiple projects or trades.\nKnowledge:Thorough knowledge of construction industry safety standards, practices, and OSHA regulations.\nCommunication & Reporting:Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate safety concerns and solutions clearly. Report-writing and presentation abilities.\nTechnology Skills:Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and the ability to adapt to new technology and tools.\nDriver’s License:Possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.\nPreferred Qualifications\nConstruction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification\nOSHA 500 Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry\nOSHA 30-Hour Construction certification\nCPR/First Aid certification\nData center construction experience\nBilingual in English and Spanish (verbal and written)\nPhysical and Environmental Requirements\nAbility to stand, walk, climb stairs or ladders, and work outdoors for extended periods.
