If you’re interested in joining a high performing team, pushing the boundaries with a clean sheet development of re-usable liquid launch vehicle, this is your opportunity!\nADDITIVE MANUFACTURING TECHNICIAN III\nBased onsite at Rocket Lab's Engine Development Center in Long Beach, California the Additive Manufacturing Technician I is responsible for supporting various Additive technologies (LPBF, DED, Hybrid Solutions) with various alloys. This role will support all Additive processes involved with the Rutherford & Archimedes engines. You will support the Manager of Additive Manufacturing and Production Additive Manufacturing organization, with deliverables required for internal leadership, board of directors, and investors.\nThis opening is for A Shift, which will be a 4-10 schedule starting in November.\nWHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:\nUphold and follow all Additive safety measures - be an advocate for safe operations.\nPrepare additive print jobs for success through attention to detail on setups.\nOperate a variety of metal 3D printers, experience with EOS, SLM, & DMG preferred.\nIdentify and troubleshoot mechanical, optical laser, electrical, and build issues.\nConduct calibration of 3D Printers and interpret findings with Engineering.\nEnsure conformance of part/build through independent inspection and print detail verification.\nFollow work orders, procedures, specifications, and test instructions with attention to detail. Communicate any issues that are found.\nPerform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance - as directed by Engineering.\nProvide process improvement feedback and implement solutions in collaboration with Engineering.\nCollaborate with Engineers on setup and fabrication of 3D prints and new hardware.\nKick off issue tickets based on process/product non-conformances.\nDrive Additive Internal 5S system with actions promoting sustainability in the Additive Department.\nUtilize measurement tools (micrometer, caliper, surface plate etc.) to ensure high quality inputs and outputs, including post-print inspection and post-processing inspection.\nYOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS AS AN ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING TECHNICIAN III:\n3+ years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, assembly or testing environment.\nProficient in hand, power, and pneumatic tools such as drills, chisels, taps.\nProficient in inspection methods: surface plate, calipers, micrometers, height gauge.\nExperience with operating machine tools: vertical mills, lathes, media blasters, cranes, or forklifts.\nHigh School diploma or GED\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\nAbility to work a 4-10 schedule\nStand and walk for entire shift (8+ hours) on various work surfaces \nClimb ladders and work at elevated height small spaces, awkward positions, and tight areas as needed \nPerform repetitive motions including bending, twisting, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, and stooping \nUse hands with precision to handle, control, and operate tools, instruments, and equipment \nLift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment up to 25 lbs. \nWork in varied environments including production floors, equipment areas, and field locations with exposure to noise, temperature variations, and moving machinery \nFlexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and varied shifts as operational needs require \nLevel and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.\nBase salary is just one component of our total rewards package at Rocket Lab.
