EDM TECHNICIAN II - B SHIFT

Based at Rocket Lab's headquarters in Long Beach, California, the EDM Technician II will play a key role in manufacturing precision components for Archimedes, the revolutionary rocket engine driving the Neutron launch vehicle.

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO: 

• Set up and operate EDM machinery with precision and accuracy.
• Inspect machined parts to ensure they meet quality standards and dimensional specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance to keep EDM machines running at optimal performance levels.
• Select and load appropriate programs, inputting all necessary parameters into machine controls.
• Conduct regular cleaning and preventative maintenance to maximize equipment longevity.
• Utilize precision measuring tools, such as calipers, height gauges, and indicators, to verify part accuracy and quality.

YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS AS A EDM TECHNICIAN II:

• 2+ years of experience operating a Wire EDM machine.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Solid understanding and practical application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience working in R&D, prototyping, or high-mix manufacturing settings.

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:

• Proven experience in a fast-paced production environment.
• Knowledge of materials commonly used in wire EDM cutting, including aluminum, titanium, Monel, and Inconel.
• Familiarity with additive manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Experience with inventory management and heat treatment operations.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 

• Willing to work B Shift (Monday- Thursday 3:15pm - 1:45am) 
• Stand and walk for entire shift (8+ hours) on various work surfaces
• Climb ladders and work at elevated height small spaces, awkward positions, and tight areas as needed
• Perform repetitive motions including bending, twisting, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, and stooping
• Use hands with precision to handle, control, and operate tools, instruments, and equipment
• Lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment up to 25 lbs.
• Work in varied environments including production floors, equipment areas, and field locations with exposure to noise, temperature variations, and moving machinery
• Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and varied shifts as operational needs require 

Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Hourly Pay Range (CA Only)

$25—$35 USD
