Come shape the future with us.\nSUPPLY CHAIN\nRocket Lab’s Supply Chain team is responsible for the flow of all materials, products, and components through the business. With many of our own products functioning as critical components to our own and our customers’ missions, the Supply Chain team has a direct impact on the success of our rocket and satellite programs. They set up the assembly kits that enables our technicians to put together our Electron rockets, manage inventory, look after shipping and receiving, manage direct and indirect procurement, and inspect and ensure that all of our materials and products are compliant and up to standard. They are the chain that links our teams together and are critical to our success. \nMATERIAL HANDLER II\nBased onsite at Rocket Lab's Albuquerque, NM facility the Material Handler II will join our shipping and receiving department and be responsible for activities related to the receiving, storing, and/or shipping of materials or finished product.\nWHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:\nEnsure materials are received from proper vendors and delivered to inventory\nEnsuring finished goods are packaged according to specifications and shipped in a timely manner\nReview receipts of all materials to ensure purchase orders are open and the quality of materials received is correct\nEnsure the security and accountability of materials and goods with inventory control\nEnsure materials are available to meet production schedules and/or products are shipped as per marketing schedules\nEstablish and modify operational methods and procedures\nAct as an advisor to unit or sub-units and become actively involved, as required, to meet schedules and resolve problems\nPerform the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment\nUnpack and check goods received against packing list or invoices\nMaintain records of received goods and reject unsatisfactory items\nLift heavy items and operate a forklift (once certified)\nPost weights and shipping charges, and prepare goods for final shipment\nExamine, stock, and distribute materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines\nPrepare kitting packages for assembly production\nDeliver material to end users as required\nHandle hazardous material in accordance with company procedures\nYOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:\n1+ years of related experience in shipping and receiving\nHigh school diploma or GED equivalent\nTHESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:\nInternational shipping experience a plus\nBasic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite\nAbility to work on multiple tasks\nAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization\nMust be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language\nAbility to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance\nAbility to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.\nFamiliarity with freight carriers such as FedEx, UPS, DHL, and common truck carriers\nExperience in a customer service environment \nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\nOccasionally required to stand and walk\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus\nOccasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles\nNoise level in the work environment is usually moderate\nNote: this is a warehouse environment, but you must be able to gown up in a bunny suit and conform to Class 1000 Cleanroom protocol as required\nThis position may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, computer work, and occasional exposure to moderate levels of noise, dust, and fumes in production areas. \nWHAT TO EXPECT \nWe’re on a mission to unlock the potential of space to improve life on Earth, but that’s not an easy task.
