The ideal candidate is highly driven, comfortable with ambiguity, and excited to help define what AI-native engineering looks like in practice.\nAbout the Role\nOwn full-stack features from problem definition through design, implementation, release, measurement, and iteration.\nBuild client-facing product capabilities that help clients understand their options, complete key actions, and move forward with confidence on Rocket Mortgage client sites.\nDesign and implement scalable, performant frontend and backend solutions using technologies such as React, TypeScript, GraphQL, AWS, and Kubernetes.\nDesign and evolve GraphQL schemas and APIs that give client-facing applications fast, reliable, and well-structured access to data.\nBuild accessible, responsive, and secure user experiences that meet the quality bar expected of a regulated financial services brand.\nUse AI tools and agentic development workflows to increase engineering speed, improve quality, and raise the bar for how the team builds software.\nPartner with product, design, data, and business stakeholders to translate ambiguous business needs into reliable technical solutions.\nContribute to architecture and technical strategy decisions that balance speed, scalability, maintainability, and business impact.\nCollaborate effectively across distributed engineering teams, including partners in India.\nMentor other engineers by sharing patterns, improving team workflows, and modeling high ownership.\nAbout You\nYou are a builder who cares about outcomes, not just tickets. You move quickly, and also hold a high bar for quality, especially for experiences that clients see and use directly. You are curious about AI, already using it seriously in your development workflow, and excited to push the team toward better ways of working.\nYou are comfortable operating in an early-stage product environment where requirements evolve, priorities shift, and strong engineers are expected to bring clarity rather than wait for perfect instructions.\nMinimum Qualifications\n5+ years of professional software development experience.\nStrong experience building production web applications with React and TypeScript.\nHands-on experience designing, building, and consuming GraphQL APIs.\nExperience building full-stack applications across frontend, backend, APIs, and data integrations.\nExperience designing, deploying, or operating applications on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.\nStrong understanding of software design, system architecture, testing, observability, and maintainability.\nDemonstrated ability to solve ambiguous problems and collaborate effectively across teams.\nPreferred Qualifications\nStrong hands-on usage of AI tools in professional software development workflows.\nExperience using AI coding agents, AI-assisted reviews, prompt-driven development, or multi-agent workflows.\nExperience with AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD, automated testing, and production operations.\nExperience building Node.js-based GraphQL services and schema design practices such as federation, schema versioning, and performance optimization.\nExperience with front-end performance, web accessibility (WCAG), and security best practices for client-facing applications.\nTrack record of delivering features in greenfield, early-stage, or rapidly evolving product environments.\nExperience in fintech, financial services, or consumer-facing digital products.\nDemonstrated ability to mentor engineers and influence team engineering practices.\nWhat you’ll get\nOur team members fuel our strategy, innovation and growth, so we ensure the health and well-being of not just you, but your family, too!
