This is a material planning position, with responsibilities for scheduling and forecasting the right volumes of materials, goods and products inbound to the business from supply chain. This role contains functions that are necessary for managing the flow of inventory and able to deliver efficient, effective and flexible solutions to meet production requirements. Selected candidate will work from engineering plans and production specifications to ensure materials are provided according to schedules. They will advise management of the status of work in progress, coordinate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain and interfaces with engineering and program management as well as external customers. Ensure availability of materials and labor to meet production requirements and delivery commitments. Works to resolve material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions. Minimal supervision of daily activities will be required with independent judgment relative to work activities expected.\nEssential Functions:\nSchedule the supply of materials to meet production requirements and minimum safety stock levels.\nAssess volume requirements against planning assumptions\nCheck MRP action messages daily and ensure that data is accurate and up to date and resolve any issues as required.\nUnderstand and manage risk to minimize impact to production schedule\nTake follow up actions in relations to material shortages that affect production\nMonitor the integrity of the Bill of Materials (BOM)\nProficient with industry software such as Microsoft Project and other MRP and ERP systems.
