This role supports preconstruction, design coordination, construction verification, quality control, and asset documentation by producing high-quality point clouds, 3D models, and data-driven insights for internal and client project teams\nKey Responsibilities\nFoster an environment of diversity, equity, and inclusion.\nUnderstand construction project workflows (schematic design, design development, construction documentation phases) and project management. \nUnderstand construction project delivery methods and coordination methods to support project execution.\nPlan and Perform laser scanning, mobile scanning, 3D cameras, and UAV/drone-based photogrammetry on active construction sites and existing facilities.\nDevelop capture strategies to meet project accuracy, coverage, and deliverable requirements.\nOperate, transport, and maintain reality capture equipment in accordance with safety policies, and equipment standards.\nCoordinate site access, logistics, and scanning schedules with project teams and site personnel.\nProcess raw scan data into registered/integrated point clouds using industry-standard software.\nProcess drone image data into registered/integrated data using industry-standard software.\nClean, align, validate, and verify datasets to ensure accuracy, completeness, and usability.\nPerform accuracy verification against project control points, survey data, and project requirements.\nSupport clash detection, deviation analysis, and progress verification using reality capture data.\nConvert point clouds into Models (LOD 200 - 500) as required for coordination, prefab, and as-built documentation.\nCollaborate with MEP, structural, architectural, survey, and construction teams, to identify variances and potential issues early.\nProvide clear documentation, visuals, and explanations of reality capture outputs to non-technical stakeholders.\nProvide clear, professional communication with clients, field teams, and internal stakeholders.\nSupport coordination meetings using point clouds and as-built models.\nStay current with advancements in reality capture hardware, software, and automation.\nAssist in developing company-wide reality capture standards and training materials.\nRequirements\nAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Surveying, Architecture, GIS, or a related field (or equivalent experience).\n2-3+ years of experience in laser scanning, photogrammetry, or reality capture within the AEC industry.\nProficiency with Laser scanner operations (e.g., Leica, FARO, Trimble, etc.)\nProficiency with UAV/Drone operations (Part 107 Certification preferred)\nStrong experience with point cloud processing and BIM coordination workflows.\nProficient in using Reality Capture / Processing software, Leica Cyclone, FARO Scene, Recap Pro, Pix4D, or similar platforms.\nProficient in using Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, etc.\nExperience with construction and collaboration tools, including Procore, ACC, Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.\n Strong understanding of site safety practices, PPE enforcement, equipment safety standards, etc.\nAbility to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.\nDemonstrated motivation for professional growth and continuous improvement.\nWillingness to travel to project sites as required.\nBenefits\nAt Rockford, we believe that investing in our people is essential to our success. When in the office, the physical demands require the ability to sit for long periods of time. Intermittent movement, such as accessing centrally located office equipment, lifting of 35 lbs, bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing, may be necessary to perform the requirements of this position. Site visits may subject the individual to hazards commonly associated with construction.
