And if that’s you we would love to have you join us!\nJob Description\nData Platform Engineer - Enterprise Common Data Model / Common Data Layer (CDM/CDL)\nPune / Bangalore / Noida, India\nPosition Summary\nAs a Senior Data Platform Engineer - Enterprise Common Data Model/Common Data Layer (CDM/CDL), you will design, develop, and deliver scalable data management solutions that power Rockwell Automation's Enterprise Data Platform. You will report to the Technical Leader - CDM/CDL and work in a hybrid capacity.\nYou will collaborate with technical leads, analysts, architects, integration teams, product owners, and business stakeholders to build and evolve enterprise data products, canonical data models, and scalable data services that enable trusted, reusable, and governed data across the organization.\nYour Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, and maintain relational and canonical data models using Azure SQL Database, including tables, views, stored procedures, functions, keys, constraints, and indexes.\nDevelop high-quality, performant T-SQL code and optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, dependency analysis, and controlled schema management.\nDesign, build, test, and maintain data acquisition, integration, and transformation pipelines using Microsoft Azure PaaS services and DevOps methodologies.\nArchitect data structures and pipelines that enable \"Data as a Service\" capabilities across business units while ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and performance.\nCollaborate with integration teams to define data contracts, database interfaces, and enterprise integration patterns.\nContribute to the evolution of the CDM/CDL platform using technologies such as Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Integration Services.\nManage CI/CD pipelines, release processes, and deployment automation using Azure DevOps and Git-based workflows.\nSupport containerization and cloud deployment practices that enable scalable and resilient platform operations.\nWork closely with analysts, product owners, architects, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high-quality enterprise data solutions.\nSupport data governance, data quality, metadata management, and enterprise architecture initiatives.\nThe Essentials - You Will Have\nBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.\nStrong experience in Azure SQL Database, SQL Server, T-SQL programming, relational database design, and data modeling.\nExperience designing and implementing enterprise-scale data integration and transformation solutions.\nExperience across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile delivery methodologies.\nExperience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation.\nStrong understanding of database performance tuning, schema versioning, and platform engineering best practices.\nMake architectural trade-offs and deliver scalable solutions that meet evolving business needs.\nThe Preferred - You Might Also Have\n8+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Platform Engineering, Software Engineering, or related disciplines.\nExperience with modern Azure data platform technologies including Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure Data Factory (ADF), Microsoft Fabric, and Azure Integration Services.\nExperience building enterprise common data models, canonical data models, or master data solutions.\nExperience working with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.\nFamiliarity with Data as a Service (DaaS), data governance, data quality, and metadata management practices.\nExperience with containerization and cloud-native deployment architectures.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.\nExperience working in a global enterprise environment with cross-functional teams.\nExposure to enterprise architecture frameworks and large-scale platform modernization initiatives.\nWhat We Offer:\nOur benefits package includes:\nComprehensive mindfulness programmed with a premium membership to Calm\nVolunteer Paid Time Off available after 6 months of employment\nCompany volunteer and donation matching programme\nEmployee Assistance Program\nPersonalised wellbeing programmed through our OnTrack programmed\nOn-demand digital course library for professional development\n... and other local benefits!\nAt Rockwell Automation, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace.
