And if that’s you we would love to have you join us!\nJob Description\nThe Hardware Engineer will support engineering bill of material (BOM) cost reduction initiatives by identifying, evaluating, validating, and implementing product cost improvement opportunities. This role works closely with hardware design engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, quality, product management, and finance teams to reduce product cost while maintaining performance, reliability, manufacturability, compliance, and customer requirements.\nYou will report to the Bussines Operation Manager and have a hybrid schedule working in Katowice, Poland.\nYour Responsibilities:\nSupport BOM cost reduction projects across existing hardware products and platforms.\nAnalyze product BOMs to identify high-cost components, cost drivers, obsolescence risks, and opportunities for standardization or consolidation.\nEvaluate alternate components, suppliers, materials, and design approaches to reduce cost without compromising quality or performance.\nPartner with sourcing and supply chain teams to review supplier cost data, availability, lifecycle status, and commercial alternatives.\nWork with design engineering teams to assess electrical, mechanical, thermal, reliability, and compliance impacts of proposed cost reduction changes.\nPerform or support engineering validation, testing, and qualification activities for component substitutions and design changes.\nCreate and update engineering documentation, including drawings, schematics, specifications, test plans, BOMs, and change requests.\nSupport engineering change processes, including impact assessments, risk reviews, approval documentation, and implementation tracking.\nCollaborate with manufacturing and operations teams to identify cost reduction opportunities related to assembly processes, yield, rework, test time, and manufacturability.\nEnsure all cost reduction activities comply with internal engineering standards, product requirements, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.\nTrack project status, cost savings, risks, validation results, and implementation progress.\nCommunicate technical recommendations, project updates, and decision points to engineering and business stakeholders.\n\nThe Essentials - You Will Have:\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.\n3+ years of experience supporting hardware design, product engineering, component engineering, manufacturing engineering, or sustaining engineering activities.\nUnderstanding of engineering BOM structures, component specifications, drawings, schematics, and product documentation.\nEvaluate component alternatives and understand technical impacts related to fit, form, function, performance, reliability, and manufacturability.\nExperience supporting engineering change orders, product validation, design reviews, or qualification testing.\nWork cross-functionally with engineering, sourcing, quality, manufacturing, finance, and program management teams.\nThe Preferred - You Might Also Have:\nExperience with BOM cost reduction, value engineering, value analysis, or product cost productivity initiatives.\nKnowledge of electronic components, printed circuit board assemblies, sensors, embedded hardware, power electronics, or electromechanical systems.\nFamiliarity with component lifecycle management, obsolescence management, alternate part qualification, and supplier transitions.\nExperience using PLM, ERP, CAD, schematic capture, or BOM management tools.\nKnowledge of manufacturing processes, test methods, reliability testing, and design for manufacturability.\nExperience working with global suppliers, contract manufacturers, or sourcing teams.\nFamiliarity with regulated product environments, safety standards, or customer-specific engineering requirements.\nFamiliarity with AI data analytics and workflow\nWhat We Offer:\nOur benefits package includes …\nVolunteer Paid Time off available after 6 months of employment for eligible employees\nCompany volunteer and donation matching program - Your volunteer hours or personal cash donations to an eligible charity can be matched with a charitable donation.\nOn-demand digital course library for professional development\nComprehensive mindfulness programs with a premium membership to Calm\nEmployee Assistance Program\nPersonalized wellbeing programs through our OnTrack program\n... and other local benefits!\nAt Rockwell Automation we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, so if you're excited about this role but your experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway.
