And if that’s you we would love to have you join us!\nJob Description\nWe are seeking a Firmware Engineering Intern to join our Global Power Motion Business (PMB) development organization. This internship is designed for students pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in embedded systems and firmware development. You will work alongside and receive mentorship from experienced firmware engineers while contributing to the development and testing of embedded firmware used in industrial products. You will gain practical experience with embedded C/C++, real-time systems, software development practices, testing, debugging, and engineering processes.\nYou will report to the Engineering Manager in Mequon, WI. This role does not provide relocation assistance.\nYour Responsibilities:\nAssist with the development, programming, debugging, and testing of embedded firmware under the guidance of experienced engineers.\nContribute to firmware features, improvements, testing, or engineering tools for industrial drive products.\nDevelop embedded software using C/C++ and supporting development or test activities using Python and scripting languages.\nSupport firmware testing, including unit, integration, and functional testing.\nHelp troubleshoot firmware issues with guidance from firmware engineers and other engineering teams.\nParticipate in code reviews and learn established coding standards, development practices, and documentation processes.\nLearn how product requirements are connected to firmware implementation and verification activities.\nGain exposure to embedded hardware, real-time operating systems, communication protocols, development environments, and debugging tools.\nLearn about cybersecurity principles and practices applicable to embedded and industrial products.\nParticipate in Agile and Scrum development activities as part of the engineering team.\nCollaborate with colleagues and mentors in a globally distributed engineering environment.\nComplete well-defined engineering assignments while progressively taking on more challenging work as your experience grows.\nThe Essentials - You Will Have:\nPursuing a Bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university.\nLegal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.\nThe Preferred - You Might Also Have:\nPursuing Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical or computer engineering, or similar \nMust be enrolled for at least one more semester of school after the internship concludes (graduation date of December 2027 or later)\nLocal or attending school in the greater Milwaukee area (within 50 miles from the Headquarter or Mequon location)\nMinimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.\nPreference given to students met on campus, at a national recruiting event, through a Rockwell Automation-hosted event or a targeted recruiting campaign.\nBasic programming (C++, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript)\nBasic knowledge of circuit theory and operation, including microprocessors, digital logic devices, analog and/or DC-power conversion, programmable devices (CPLDs, FPGAs)\nExperience with Power Electronics or motors \nExperience with design capture tools\nBe able to work with schematic drawings\nFamiliarity with tools such as CAD, Creoparametic, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), 3D Modeling, SAP, Matlab \nExperience with industrial automation environments including PLC or drives programming \nExperience using Agile methodology \nWhat We Offer:\nHealth Insurance including Medical, Dental and Vision\n401k\nPaid Time off\nFlexible Work Schedule where you will work with your manager to enjoy a work schedule that can be flexible with your personal life.\nTo learn more about our benefits package, please visit at www.raquickfind.com.\nAt Rockwell Automation we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, so if you're excited about this role but your experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway.
