And if that’s you we would love to have you join us!\nJob Description\nPosition Summary\nJob Summary:\nAs the Intelligent Packaged Power (IPP) SW/FW Engineering Team Lead, you will lead the IPP software and firmware engineering resources based in Pune. Your scope will include the LVMCC Software Engineering Team and the MVB Firmware Engineering Team. You will combine people leadership, technical direction, and execution leadership to allow secure, reliable, and high-quality embedded firmware and industrial software solutions. You will work in partnership with the designated Scrum Masters. You will collaborate with global teams, including engineering, product management, quality, cybersecurity, test, and operations teams. These collaborations will align priorities, manage dependencies, and deliver integrated solutions for IPP products and platforms.\nYou will report to the Global Engineering Director - IPP and will work in hybrid schedule based in Pune, Hinjewadi.\nYour Responsibilities:\nLead the Pune-based IPP software and firmware engineering teams, creating clear priorities, engagement, accountability, and understanding of IPP goals.\nProvide daily leadership for the LVMCC Software Engineering Team and MVB Firmware Engineering Team, balancing people leadership with hands-on technical guidance and delivery ownership.\nCoach engineers in technical capability, career development, and professional growth while building a culture of inclusion, learning, collaboration, and engineering excellence.\nPartner with global engineering leaders and product team members to translate product roadmaps and customer needs into executable software and firmware plans, staffing priorities, and delivery commitments.\nSupport planning and execution, remove organisational impediments, manage cross-team dependencies, and lead predictable delivery and continuous improvement.\nPromote disciplined engineering practices across architecture, requirements, design, coding, peer review, configuration management, verification, validation, release, and lifecycle support.\nChampion quality, functional safety, product security, DevOps, automated testing, and CI/CD practices appropriate for industrial software and embedded firmware development.\nCoordinate across distributed teams, including hardware, systems, test, quality, cybersecurity, product management, and manufacturing engineering.\nMonitor project health, capacity, technical risks, defects, and delivery performance; communicate clear status, decisions, trade-offs, and escalations to stakeholders.\nSupport hiring, onboarding, resource planning, succession planning, and capability development for the Pune SW/FW organization.\nGuide reuse, common architectures, tools, and engineering methods across LVMCC and MVB while respecting product-specific technical and regulatory requirements.\nFoster customer-focused innovation and identify opportunities to improve product value, engineering efficiency, maintainability, and speed to market.\nThe Essentials - You Will Have:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Electronic & Communication, Embedded Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.\nMinimum 7 years of relevant software or firmware engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a team leadership, people leadership, technical leadership, or engineering management role.\nExperience leading, coaching, software and/or firmware engineers in a product development environment.\nExperience delivering industrial software, embedded firmware, controls, automation, power electronics, motor control, or other complex engineered products.\nWorking knowledge of modern software and firmware development lifecycles, requirements management, architecture, coding practices, testing, defect management, and release processes.\nExperience working in Agile development environments with product owners and cross-functional engineering stakeholders.\nLegal authorization to work in India.\nThe Preferred - You Might Also Have:\nMaster's degree in a relevant engineering or technical field.\nExperience leading both application software and embedded firmware teams.\nKnowledge of low-voltage motor control centers, medium-voltage products, drives, motor control, power distribution, or industrial automation systems.\nExperience with Rockwell Automation platforms, IntelliCENTER solutions, FactoryTalk software, Logix-based systems, or connected industrial products.\nExperience with embedded C/C++, real-time operating systems, industrial communications, desktop or web application development, and software integration.\nFamiliarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, automated build and test environments, source control, static analysis, and engineering metrics.\nKnowledge of product cybersecurity, secure development lifecycle practices, functional safety, or relevant industrial standards.\nExperience managing external partners, contractors, or globally distributed development teams.\nAgile, project management, or engineering leadership certification.\nWhat We Offer:\nOur benefits package includes …\nComprehensive mindfulness programs with a premium membership to Calm\nVolunteer Paid Time off available after 6 months of employment for eligible employees.\nCompany volunteer and donation matching programme - Your volunteer hours or personal cash donations to an eligible charity can be matched with a charitable donation.\nEmployee Assistance Program\nPersonalised wellbeing programmes through our OnTrack programme\nOn-demand digital course library for professional development\n... and other local benefits!\nAt Rockwell Automation we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, so if you're excited about this role but your experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway.
