Mechanical Development Engineer executes defined engineering tasks under the guidance of senior engineers, including enclosure development, thermal/mechanical simulations, prototyping, and verification tasks.\nThe role focuses on completing assigned user stories, preparing design documentation, collaborating within a scrum team, and assisting in troubleshooting activities. This position builds capability through hands-on design work and application of Rockwell Automation engineering processes.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nMechanical Design & Analysis\nExecute mechanical design engineering tasks such as modeling sheet metal, plastics, heatsinks, and mechanical assemblies using Creo.\nSupport basic thermal and mechanical simulations using tools such as Ansys.\nCreate and update engineering drawings applying GD&T fundamentals.\nUse development CMM tools for inspection\nAgile & Project Execution\nComplete assigned user stories each sprint and support backlog refinement activities.\nParticipate in team meetings and provide clear updates on task status.\nMake task-level engineering decisions within defined constraints, escalating complex issues as needed.\nProduct Development Support\nPrepare models, documentation, and test results for design reviews.\nBuild and test prototype hardware while following safe work practices.\nExecute test procedures for thermal, vibration, and mechanical validation.\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nWork with electrical, manufacturing, and test engineering teams to resolve design challenges.\nMaintain BOMs and documentation within Windchill and SAP under direction.\nTroubleshooting & Continuous Improvement\nSupport senior engineers in identifying root cause of mechanical or thermal issues.\nProvide input to design process improvements based on day-to-day engineering work.\nTools & Standards\nApply basic GD&T and tolerance analysis.\nSupport compliance activities related to UL/IEC regulatory standards through test preparation and documentation.\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.\n2+ years of experience in mechanical design (internships or co-op may apply).\nBasic proficiency with Creo and foundational mechanical analysis concepts.\nAbility to execute defined engineering tasks and collaborate effectively within a scrum team.\nUnderstanding of GD&T and mechanical drawing practices.\nDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nExperience with enclosure design or thermal/mechanical components.\nExposure to Ansys or similar simulation tools.\nKnowledge of UL/IEC standards related to industrial electrical equipment.\nFamiliarity with AC drives or power electronics concepts.\nAbility to assist onboarding of interns or new engineers.\nRockwell Automation’s
