And if that’s you we would love to have you join us!\nJob Description\nRockwell Automation is looking for a Project Hardware Development Engineer with digital electronics design experience to join our Control Logix Engineering team. You will join a team developing advanced automation control systems. You'll contribute to all stages of new hardware product development, from sub-circuit design and integration to functional analysis of the product. This includes its regulatory compliance. While doing so, you'll build necessary technical skills across the team in a supportive environment. If you value knowledge sharing, teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.\nYou provide technical leadership for a medium-sized engineering team, pioneer new technologies, shape the direction of hardware plans, and mentor other engineers as the team grows. With success in this role, you will learn all of the stages in the development cycle. You will work in a Scrum team, where your primary collaboration within the project will be with the Engineering Sponsor.\nYou will report directly to the Hardware Manager and have a hybrid schedule working in Katowice, Poland.\nYour Responsibilities:\nDesign hardware in an agile team, including architecture, component selection, and verification.\nWork with prototypes: program, measure signals, debug issues, and validate design changes.\nPrepare product design documentation and test reports.\nLead technical plans such as researching new technologies, implementing new circuit design tools, and troubleshooting failures.\nLead technical work in your specialization - processor subsystems (CPU, memory, power) or networking subsystems (switching, PHYs, high-speed links).\nImprove engineering workflows by introducing better tools, simulations, and failure-analysis methods.\nBuild relationships across teams with firmware, test, and manufacturing engineers to deepen understanding of the product development lifecycle.\nMentor junior engineers and help shape engineering practices.\nThe Essentials - You Will Have:\nEngineer's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.\n7+ years of experience in electronics hardware design, including product development, release, and sustaining, including microcontrollers, DDR memory interfaces, Ethernet, ASICs, and FPGAs.\n7+ years of experience with schematic capture, PCB design, and analysis tools (Mentor Graphics, HyperLynx, or similar).\nCapability to independently review and troubleshoot hardware designs, interpret test data, and make well-founded technical decisions that balance performance, reliability, and manufacturability.\nEnglish at B2 level or higher.\nThe Preferred - You Might Also Have:\nUnderstanding of schematics, circuit theory, digital logic, power conversion, and programmable devices (CPLDs/FPGAs).\nPractical programming skills in Python or C++ for automation and hardware test workflows.\nHands-on use of lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debuggers.\nKnowledge of industrial control systems, PLCs, functional safety, or EMC requirements.\nExperience working in an Agile development environment.\nInterest in mentoring and expanding technical scope.\nPlus deeper expertise in one of the following areas:\nProcessors: CPU subsystems, memory controllers, power delivery, high-speed digital interfaces.\nNetworking: Ethernet subsystems, switching architectures, high-speed links, network interface design.\nWhat We Offer:\nOur benefits package includes …\nVolunteer Paid Time off available after 6 months of employment for eligible employees.\nCompany volunteer and donation matching program - Your volunteer hours or personal cash donations to an eligible charity can be matched with a charitable donation.\nOn-demand digital course library for professional development.\nComprehensive mindfulness programs with a premium membership to Calm.\nEmployee Assistance Program.\nPersonalized wellbeing programs through our OnTrack program.\n... and other local benefits!\nAt Rockwell Automation we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, so if you're excited about this role but your experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway.
