Recently released projects include John Wick: Chapter 4, Black Adam, Disney's The Little Mermaid, and Love, Death and Robots Volume 3, for which the company won a 2023 VES award.\n The Assets Supervisor is responsible for the creative and technical quality of all 3D assets and creatures on a project. Working closely with the VFX Supervisor, VFX Producer, and CG Supervisor, they define the working methods and oversee their implementation throughout production. They act as the main point of contact between the artists and project leadership, communicating the creative vision and technical requirements. Their role is to plan, coordinate, and guide the team to ensure the delivery of consistent, robust 3D assets and creatures that meet Rodeo FX’s high standards.\nKey Responsibilities:\nCreative Quality\nWork with the VFX Supervisor to define the visual look of 3D assets and creatures.\nEnsure that each deliverable meets the project’s creative vision and Rodeo FX standards.\nParticipate in dailies and provide constructive feedback to artists to elevate the quality of deliverables.\nApprove 3D assets and creatures during internal and external reviews, including client Cinesync sessions.\nTechnical Quality\nEstablish strong working methods tailored to the project’s needs.\nAnticipate technical challenges and implement solutions before they impact production.\nOversee the optimization of scenes, shaders, and renders to ensure robustness throughout the pipeline.\nDocument best practices and ensure they are applied consistently across the team.\nLeadership & Communication\nGuide and support team artists by clarifying expectations and priorities.\nMaintain clear and consistent communication between artists, supervision, and production.\nStep in quickly when team members encounter difficulties, offering practical solutions.\nFoster a positive work environment aligned with Rodeo FX values.\nProject Management\nCollaborate with the VFX Supervisor and production to define resource needs and participate in artist casting.\nTrack progress, identify risks, and regularly keep production and supervision informed.\nContribute to strategic planning, scheduling, and budget management.\nParticipate in the bidding and project evaluation process when required.\nWorkflow Strategies\nDevelop and refine workflows based on creative and technical needs.\nInitiate or follow up on tool development when needed, providing clear direction to technical teams.\nReview post-mortem feedback and turn learnings into lasting improvements.\nEnsure artists follow departmental workflow standards in the execution of their work.\nEncourage innovation and the evolution of practices within the Assets department.\n Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a VFX production environment.\nMinimum of 5 years of experience in an Asset Supervisor role.\nExcellent proficiency in Houdini / Solaris, Maya, Substance Painter, Nuke, Arnold, and Karma.\nIn-depth knowledge of Flow alias ShotGrid and VFX pipelines.\nAdvanced artistic and technical skills.\nNatural leadership, clarity, rigor, strategic thinking, and ability to remain calm under pressure.\nAsset: Participation in pipeline innovation or tool development.\nAsset: Experience in client presentations or creative reviews.\nAsset: Creation of technical documentation, training, or structured mentorship.\n Diversity, Equity and Inclusion\nAt Rodeo FX, diversity is a core value.
