Our mission is to give our talent the freedom, resources, and environment they need to produce high-quality work and thrive in a stimulating, collaborative, and supportive setting.\nTo support close collaboration, strong team connections, and the creative energy of our studio, all Bengaluru roles are expected to work from the studio five days per week. This on-site presence helps foster effective communication, faster decision-making, knowledge sharing, and a consistent studio culture across teams.\n The DFX Supervisor leads the day-to-day creative and technical execution of assigned projects or sequences, translating the VFX Supervisor’s vision into clear direction for the production team. They oversee work across disciplines, maintain visual consistency, and guide teams toward solutions that meet client expectations and Rodeo FX’s quality standards.\nWorking closely with the VFX Supervisor, VFX Producer, CG Supervisor, and Compositing Supervisor, they align creative ambitions with production realities, anticipate challenges, and keep work progressing toward delivery. They support the VFX Supervisor on larger productions and may oversee smaller projects under their guidance, within an agreed scope of responsibility.\nMain responsibilities\nCreative Quality\nTranslate the VFX Supervisor’s direction and client feedback into clear objectives for assets, shots, and sequences.\nLead daily reviews and provide actionable feedback, ensuring visual continuity and consistency across disciplines.\nGuide the integration of CG and compositing work, resolving creative issues with the relevant supervisors.\nReview work against agreed creative standards before presentation to the VFX Supervisor or client, respecting established approval responsibilities.\nTechnical Quality\nOversee the technical execution of assigned work, ensuring compatibility with Rodeo FX’s pipeline and project requirements.\nWork with CG, Compositing, departmental supervisors, and Pipeline to resolve issues affecting image quality or delivery.\nIdentify technical risks early and ensure proposed solutions are tested before wider implementation.\nEnsure departmental outputs integrate successfully into final shots and meet established delivery specifications.\nLeadership & Communication\nEstablish clear expectations, decision-making responsibilities, and communication channels across the project team.\nKeep the VFX Supervisor and VFX Producer informed of progress, challenges, and decisions requiring their input.\nCoordinate creative and technical handoffs across departments and studios, ensuring feedback is understood and implemented.\nMentor supervisors, leads, and artists, and contribute performance feedback in collaboration with their managers.\nMaintain a respectful, collaborative work environment aligned with Rodeo FX’s values; participate in client discussions when delegated by the VFX Supervisor.\nProject Management\nPartner with the VFX Producer to assess scope, contribute to estimates, and establish achievable schedules, milestones, and resource requirements.\nAlign execution priorities with Production and departmental supervisors, accounting for dependencies and delivery commitments.\nMonitor progress against the agreed plan and recommend corrective action when quality, timelines, or resources are at risk.\nAssess the production impact of creative changes and communicate additional work, revised assumptions, and potential cost implications before proceeding.\nSupport delivery within the approved budget through practical creative and technical decisions, in partnership with the VFX Producer.\nWorkflow Strategies\nDefine project execution strategies with the VFX Supervisor and departmental supervisors, balancing quality, efficiency, and production constraints.\nIdentify opportunities to reduce unnecessary iterations, improve handoffs, and reuse approved assets or approaches.\nCollaborate with Pipeline and Heads of Department on project-specific needs while maintaining consistency with studio practices.\nContribute to mid-project reviews and post-mortems, turning lessons learned into documented improvements.\nEvaluate relevant tools and methods with the appropriate teams and share effective practices across projects and studios.\n Minimum of eight years of experience in high-end visual effects for feature films and/or episodic productions.\nProven experience in a supervisory role, with responsibility for complex sequences or multidisciplinary teams.\nStrong creative judgement and a demonstrated ability to assess composition, lighting, colour, movement, and photoreal integration.\nThorough understanding of the VFX production process, from asset development through final compositing and delivery.\nAbility to translate creative direction into practical workflows, priorities, and clear feedback.\nExperience contributing to estimates, resource planning, schedules, and production risk management.\nWorking knowledge of Flow Production Tracking (formerly ShotGrid/Shotgun) or equivalent production-tracking tools.\nStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with sound judgement under pressure.\nStrong professional English and the ability to collaborate across studios and time zones.\nAvailability for occasional international travel.\n Diversity, Equity and Inclusion\nAt Rodeo FX, diversity is a core value.
