Manage the Facility Maintenance and Janitorial teams, protect company assets, and control maintenance costs while meeting applicable safety, environmental, and quality requirements.\nSupervisory Responsibilities\nDirectly and indirectly supervise approximately 3 to 10 employees in Facility Maintenance and Janitorial. Responsibilities include hiring, training, assigning work, developing employees, evaluating performance, administering recognition and discipline, and resolving employee concerns in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nDevelop and manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for facilities and equipment. Coordinate schedules with Planning and Production to minimize interruptions.\nOversee maintenance and repair of plastic injection molding machines and peripheral equipment, including material dryers and loaders, temperature control units, chillers, robots, conveyors, and granulators.\nMaintain other production and support equipment, building infrastructure, and utilities, including HVAC, cleanroom filtration, plumbing, electrical distribution, backup power, fire and life safety, and building security systems.\nLead hands-on troubleshooting of injection molding machines and peripheral equipment, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems. Coordinate repairs through staff or service providers and correct unsafe conditions promptly.\nTrack downtime, identify recurring failures, and lead root cause investigations and corrective actions to reduce unplanned downtime.\nEnsure preventative maintenance and repairs are completed and documented according to procedures and manufacturer specifications.\nManage maintenance budgets, repair expenditures, and spare parts inventory to support reliable operation and cost control.\nSelect and manage contractors and service vendors. Compare quotes, negotiate cost and scope, and oversee project quality, schedules, and completion.\nEvaluate equipment and infrastructure condition, operating costs, and failure risks. Recommend capital investments for equipment replacement, facility upgrades, and building modifications.\nCoordinate equipment installations, workstation and work cell changes, and facility layout improvements. Support installation and qualification activities as required.\nMaintain building drawings, equipment specifications, maintenance records, and facility compliance documentation.\nOversee janitorial services, housekeeping, and pest control programs, including cleanroom sanitation requirements.\nEnsure maintenance and facility activities follow applicable OSHA, environmental, quality system, ISO, and medical device manufacturing requirements, including safe chemical handling and storage.\nLead energy efficiency and lean improvement efforts to reduce operating costs and improve equipment reliability.\nCommunicate equipment status, maintenance priorities, project progress, and operational risks to supervisors, management, and affected departments.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nRequired Skills and Abilities\nStrong hands-on experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plastic injection molding machines and peripheral equipment is required.\nKnowledge of electrical and control systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical components, machine modifications, HVAC, plumbing, construction, and cleanroom filtration.\nKnowledge of preventive maintenance methods and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).\nKnowledge of OSHA requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, environmental controls, and safe maintenance practices.\nAbility to read technical drawings and schematics and use electrical and mechanical testing and monitoring devices safely.\nAbility to diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement repairs and corrective actions that prevent recurrence.\nAbility to lead and develop a team and coordinate competing priorities across departments and contractors.\nAbility to develop and manage budgets and evaluate repair, replacement, and project costs.\nClear communication skills, including documenting maintenance work, drafting procedures, and preparing technical summaries.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office, email, databases, and maintenance record systems.\nAttention to detail and ability to apply new technology and procedures to maintenance work.\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience in manufacturing equipment and facilities maintenance.\nAt least 5 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance, facilities maintenance, or plant engineering, including at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role.\nExperience using performance metrics to manage priorities and improve equipment reliability and maintenance results.\nPhysical Requirements\nLift, carry, push, or pull equipment, tools, and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.\nFrequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach overhead; safely climb ladders, scaffolding, and stairs and access roofs or elevated equipment.\nWork in hot or cold conditions, confined spaces, mechanical rooms, and noisy industrial areas.\nUse vision, with or without correction, to read schematics, inspect work, and identify hazards, and hearing to detect abnormal equipment sounds or alarms.\nWork Environment and Availability\nManufacturing environment requiring appropriate eye and hearing protection, along with gowning and sanitation practices when entering cleanrooms.
